Louis Ludwig Narowett ia working out a plan by which his 209 employes1 will eventually own his concern, the Narowetz Heating and Ventilating Company. The company, which has annual sales of $2,500,000, is considered the largest manufacturer of sheet metal work, blow piping, kitchen and ventilating equipment in Chicago, 111.
"They have earned the business," said Mr. Narowetz. "I never could have got anywhere without their help."
Mr. Narowetz, who is 50 years old, said he has already turned over 48 per cent of the company's stock to nine executives. As they show ability to carry on, Mr. Narowetz said, he will make the rest of the Btock available to employees in a bonus and dividend plan.
Mr. Narowetz inherited the business from his father the late Louis S. Narowetz, who came to Chicago from Bavaria with 18 cents. "I have three daughters and no sons, and my sone-in-law are trained for our business," Mr. Narowetz said. "I want to perpetuate the company my father was so proud of and started so humbly."

School Gets Praise For Aid To Youth
The Hawthorne-Cedar Knolls School, operated by the Jewish Board of Guardians, is a bold experiment which has paid off in terms of human values, according to an article entitled, "Teen>Age Bad Girl" in Look magazine. Located at Hawthorne, N. Y., the school is one of the largest, and one of the few, institutions which give psychiatric and re-educational aid to emotionally disturbed children who have become "problems" to their families, or to the community. While some of the students are placed in the school by parents, many more are referred by social workers or through the courts.
Despite the court referrals, often made in place of a sentence to a reformatory, Cedar Knolls is in no sense a reform school. "There are no guards, barred windows or locked gates. Cedar Knolls is more like a closely supervised private school," the Look article says. The comparative freedom given the student is only one of a number of innovations pioneered by the school in recent years. Another is the use of psychiatry in helping children whose delinquency has been* caused by deep-seated emotional conflicts. The individual attention given' each student is indicated by the fact that; for 200 pupils, the school has a staff of nearly 100, including psychiatrists, teachers end psychiatric case workers.
Coeducation is another experiment that is working well at Cedar Knolls. The school authorities believe that coeducational studies and recreation are a sensible approach to helping develop normal, wholesome personalities in these children, whose ages range between 10 and 18 years. The record shows that only about one in 50 girls discharged from the school has had to return. "Most of our kids go out into the world as living proof that something better can be done with so-called delinquent children than let them develop into criminals," Louis Ber-shen, acting director of the school, is quoted as saying in the Look article.
to real estate interests, In 1918 he hired a crew of men to clean out Norwalk Hospital's newly completed building, so it could be available quickly to handle an influenza epidemic.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose Roodner, and a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Terris. A funeral service was heM in Beth Israel Synagogue.
