Trans Island Avenue. -iHe holds a Ph. D. degree from the University of Chicago, and is a statistician with the Government of Canada. He was asked to give a few lectures at the University of London.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Miller, and family, 4720 Lacombe Avenue, returned from Miami Beach, Florida, after spending several weeks there.
Mr. and Mrs. Irwim Levine, Trans Island Avenue, entertained at a dinner presentation of a cheque to honor Miss Marian, Blitz, Esplanade Avenue, and her fiance, Leonard Wohl, of Brooklyn, N. Y., whose marriage takes place at Chevra Kadisha Synagogue, on March 2.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Bell, 6535 Macdonald Avenue, celebrated the bar-mitzvah of their son, Wolfe Gordon, who was called to the Reading of the Law at Shaare Zion Svnagogue., He is the brother of Joel and Golda; grandson' Of Mrs. Philip Ash, Darlington Avenue, and the late Wolfe Bell; and of the late Mr. and Mrs.- Joseph Goldman. Kiddush was observed. The following day, Mr. and Mrs. Bell were at home. Receiving, Mrs. Bell wore a black net cocktail dress, over black taffeta, designed with a high net neckline amd, net cap sleeves, worn over #M strapless taffeta slip; and bouffant skirt. She had a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Ash, the grand-� mother, wore a maroon crepe dress, made with a high neckline, long sleeves, aad slim skirt; with a similar corsage. Tulips and gladioli were combined for decoration throughout the house. Among one hundred and twenty-five guests present, were uncle and aunts of Wolfe Gordon; Mr. and Mrs. Barney Goldman, of Elmhurst, Long Island, N. Y.; Mrs. Leo Bienstock, of Flushing, Long Island, N. Y.; and Mrs. Arthur Schachtman, of New York.
Mrs. 0. Savage, de la Peltrie Avenue, and Mrs. A. Liflan, Outre moivt Avenue, entertained about thirty-five guests at a tea presentation at the Queen's Hotel, to honor their niece, Miss Edna Pell, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pell, of Montreal, whose marriage to Seymour Eisenberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Eisenberg, of Ottawa, Ont., takes place on March 16, at Beth David Synagogue. Mrs. Savage wore a black taffeta dress, fashioned with a heart-shaped necklBr�, short sleeves, and side-draped skirt; also a white straw hat, trimmed in black, and a corsage of white roses. She had matching lace gloves, a matching vnet picture hat, trimmed with pink roses, and corsage of pink roses. Miss Thel-nrn Pell, sister of the bride-elect, wore a white crepe blouse, made with a Peter Pan collar, and long
sleeves; witih a full, navy-blue taffeta skirt, with satin-trimmed patch pockets; and a corsage of red roses.' Miss Pell, the bride-elect, wore a navy-blue crepe drc designed with a sauare neckli trimmed at one side with �stones; elbow-length sleeves, ed witfc paw-bhiME end dotted silk; and wtln a pi flared skirt. Her hat we* nary-blue straw, trimmed in red and white, and with A red, corded feather; and her corsage was of red roses. Roses, gladioli, tulips, and carnations formed the decoration for the bride's table.
