� ISRAEL BOND Organization: Percy R. Gardiner, director of the Bank of Nova Scotia, bought $75,000 worth of bonds at Israel's Tenth Anniversary celebration at Holy Blossom Temple in Toronto in honour of Rabbi Abraham L. Feinberg, leader of the temple. The cheque was presented to Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, Rabbi, of Cleveland, Ohio, chairman of the board of governors of the Israel Bond Organization, and long-time Zionist notable. Mr. Gardiner referred to Israel as "the strongest friend of democracy in the Middle East." He stressed the importance to Canada and to other democracies of the world of a strong Israel, "standing firm in defence of freedom and human rights." His investment, he said, expresses his "faith in Israel, and in her capacity to build a sound economy with the aid of Israel Bonds.''�-
