He was a member of Chevra Kadisha-Bnai Jacob Synagogue, Bnai Brith. Temple Emanu-El Brotherhood, Notre Dame dea Grace Businessmen's Association, and the Y.M.H.A. He owned concessions in Belmont Park and at the Palais D'Or for more than twenty years. Mr. Rosenberg supported the Red Cross, School for Crippled Children, Salvation Army, and others.�--------------�

Mrs. Rachel Friedman Cohen. 2162 Sherbrooke Street Weat, aged eighty-seven years, widow of the late Lyon Cohen, died at her home on Thursday, May 14. She is survived by two sons: Horace R. Cohen, 4332 Weatmount Boulevard; Lawrence Z. Cohen, 721 Roslyn Avenue; a daughter, Mrs. Sidney J. Cohen (Sylvia), 4562 Michel Bibaud Avenue; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren ; and a brother, Hirsch N. Friedman, of Montreal. Funeral services tookplace from Paperman's. Rabbi Wilfred Shuchat officiated. Burial was at Shaar Haahomayim Cemetery. Mrs. Cohen, one of the early members of the Jewish community here, was born in Montreal, and was a life-long resident here. Her parents, Noah and Sarah Friedman, emigrated from Lithuania more than one hundred years ago and settled first in Lancaster, Ont., where three of her seven brothers were born before the family moved to Montreal. In 1890, she married Lyon Cohen, who became one of Canada's outstanding Jewish leaders. He predeceased her in 1937. Mrs. Cohen was founder-president of the Jewish Endeavor Society, serving for twenty-five years with this organization, which taught immigrant girls how to maintain households in Canada. She was a founder of the Women's Auxiliary, now the Sisterhood, of the Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue; a founding and honorary president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the United Talmud Torahs; and a governor of the Montreal General, Jewish-General and Verdua Protestant Hospitals. She was also a governor of the Y.M.-Y.W.H.A.
