Miss Marilyn Platnick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Plat-nick, 49 Alberta Avenue, and the fiancee of Gerald Glass, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Glass, 63 Old Colony Road, was the guest of honour at a luncheon given by Mrs. Glass, in the Empress Room, of the Park Plaza Hotel, with two hundred and thirty-seven guests present. The hostess wore an emerald-green satin sheath, fashioned with a square neckline; bracelet-length sleeves; and trumpet skirt; and had a corsage of Talisman roses. Mrs. Platnick wore a turquoise-blue, brocaded sheath, with front drapery; and scooped neckline; and had a corsage of Talisman roses. Miss Marilyn Platnick, the bride-elect, wore a moss-green, delustred satin dress, with a square neckline, in petal-like effect; fitted bodice; and bell skirt; and her corsage was of green philanopsis orchids. Seated at the heaa table with the above were: Mesdames A. Glass, E. Paszt, J. Leipciger, J. Weis-brod, H. Glass, L. Mintz, S. Landau, and David Platnick. The 'head table arrangement consisted of tiered candelabra which were adorned with white chrysanthemums and Sweetheart roses. The entire room was lighted by similar candelabra which were placed on each of the guest tables. Present from out of town were: Mrs. David Platnick, of Rochester, N.Y.; Mesdames S, Gold, J. Fine, S. Miss Alphe Silverman, daughter of Mr. ana Mrs. T. Silverman, 651 Lawrence Avenue, and the fiancee of Leonard Shulman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shulman, 12 Elway Court, was honoured at a shower at Murray House, given by Mesdames A. One hundred and thirty-six guests were present. Mrs. Weinstock wore a blue, brocaded satin sheath, with its own jacket; and had a corsage of red and white roses. Mrs. Zeifman wore a two-piece brown sheath. Mrs. F. Weinstock was in a black crepe sheath. Mrs. London wore a pale green sheath. Mrs. Silverman wore a deep blue, brocaded satin sheath; and had a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Shulman wore a black crepe sheath; wjth a corsage of red and white roses. Mrs. I. Silverman, 647 Lawrence Avenue West, grandmother of the bride-to-be, wore a grey crepe sheath; and had a corsage of red roses. Miss Alphe Silverman, the bride-to-be, wore a black silk organza dress with a velvet-trimmed, tiered skirt. Her flowers were a corsage of white carnations. The head table was decorated with a large centerpiece of roses, carnations, and gladioli. Mrs. A. Shulman, of Midland, Ont., aunt of the groom-to-be, was here for the occasion.
Charles Robert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Brand, 25 Dun cannon Drive, was called to the Reading of the Law, in celebration of his bar-mitzvah, at Adath Israel Synagogue. He is the brother of Miss Lucille Brand, aged seventeen years; and Fern, five; grandson of Mrs. Dora Pachter, 25 Dun-cannon Drive; of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Brand, of Miami Beach, Florida; and of Mr. and Mrs. J. Mrs. Philin Brand was in a beige, lace, sheath; and had a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Sydner wore a blue, moire gown; with a corsage of red roses. The marriage of Miss Florence Langer, daughter of Morris Lan-ger, 669 Richmond Street West, and the late Mrs. Katie Langer, to Murray Zidenberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Zidenberg, 161 Glenholme Avenue, was solemnized on Sunday, October 16, at half-
gast three o'clock, at Temple inai, by Rabbi. Jordan Pearlson, assisted by Cantor N. Stolnitz. The bride was given in marriage by her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gorbet, of Owen Sound, Ontario. She wore a gown of ivory-coloured peau de faille which had a fitted bodice; with portrait neckline, worked with seed-pearl-beads; and a bouffant skirt which extended as a chapel train. A crown of seed-pearl beads studded with crystals, held her finger-tip veil, and she carried a mother-of-pearl Bible, with a white orchid. Mrs. Victor Black? man Was matron. Her gown was of lavender silk organza, with a draped bodice; scooped neckline; cap sleeves; and bouffant skirt. She had a matching pillbox hat trimmed with seed-pearl-beads; and carried a cascade of mauve, blue, and pink roses. Marsha Gorbet, of Owen Sound, niece of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. She wore a gown of white silk organza, with white embroidery, and a draped periwinkle-blue cummerbund. She had a blue headband with a bow; and carried a semi-cascade of white and blue roses. Deborah Buckspan was the flower girl. She wore a blue silk organza dress, trimmed with lace; and i matching headband, with a bow; and carried a nosegay of pale blue and white roses. Harold Zidenberg, brother of the groom, was best man. The ushers were: Stanley Zeidenberg, cousin of the groom; Fred Reinglass, Len Disen-house, and Fred Gore, cousins of the bride; Victor Blackman, and Morris Klayman. A dinner followed at the Synagogue. Mrs. Norman Gorbet, sister of the bride, wore a gown of periwinkle-blue silk organza; with a bouffant skirt; scooped neckline; and fitted bodice. She had a matching headband; and a wrist corsage of pink and mauve roses. Mrs. Zidenberg, mother of the groom, wore a mauve chiffon gown; with a sheath skirt; and a bouffant overskirt made in petal-like layers and draped at the hem; with a fitted bodice; three-quarter-length sleeves; and a scooped neckline. She had a matching headband studded with seed-pearl-beads; and a wrist corsage of mauve and prnk roses. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Zidenberg spent their wedding trip in Miami Beach, Florida. The bride departed in a knitted suit of mauve and white; with a deep mauve hat. They will reside at 161 Glenholme Avenue.
