� HADASSAH-WIZO � Mrs. Louis James, 23 Robinwood Avenue, national chairman of tourism of Hadassah, haa returned home after conducting a group of forty-two Canadian Hadassah-Women's International Zionist Organization members and their husbands to Europe and Israel. Receptions in their honour were given in Paris; in Madrid, Spain, where they visited the first Synagogue to be built there in five hundred years, and where the Jewish community numbers five hundred in all. In Rome, Italy, the group was honoured by an audience with Pope John. In Israel they were received by Mrs. Ben Zvi, wife of the President of the State of Israel, in their Jerusalem home: and also by Mrs. I. H. Sieff, world president of WIZO, at her home in Tel-Aviv. ship drive to be held at Shaarei Tefillah Synagogue, with Mrs. M. Salb as convener. Mrs. Y. Shuster reported on the national conference at Ste. Agathe, Que., where the campaign for the new Beer-sheba High School was launched. The door prize at the bazaar was won by Mrs. K. Gray, 238 View-mount Avenue. The hostess was assisted by Mrs. S. Kaminker, Minnie Etlin Chapter met at the home of Mrs. Kaminker, the president, 28 Glenayr Road, who reported on the convention at Ste. Agathe. Quebec. Mrs. M. Kurtz, reported on the bazaar. Ways and means to raise money were discussed. A rummage sale will be held soon. A raffle donated by Mrs. S. Wein-stein was won. by Mrs. D. Pachter who won the door prize. Morris Waislader, of 695 Manning Avenue, died on Wednesday, November 23, at the Beverley Private Hospital, at the age of seventy-eight years.
