Mrs. Katie Malamud, 4752 de Courtrai Street, celebrated the bar-mi tzvah of her son, Earl, who was called to the Reading of the Law, at Chevra T'Hilim Synagogue. He is the son of the late Philip Malamud; brother of Miss Lois Malamud; grandson of Mrs. Annie Nit-kin, 4780 Vezina Avenue. Following services, Mrs. Malamud was hostess to seventy-five guests at a Kiddush luncheon in the Synagogue hall. She wore a green, peau de soie sheath, cut with a round neckline; and short sleeves; and a green velvet hat; and had a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Nitkin was in a purple, silk sheath, which had a round neckline; and short sleeves; with a matching hat; and had a corsage of pink roses. Miss Lois Malamud was in a red, peau de soie sheath; with a black felt hat; and her corsage was of pink roses. Rabbi Maurice Werner asked a blessing over the challah. The table was trimmed with a white birthday cake. Mrs. L. Weiner, of Brooklyn, N. Y., was here for the bar-mitzvah.
Mr. and Mrs. David Ellin, of New York, celebrated the bar-mitzvah of their son, Morgan, who was called to the Reading of the Law, at Chevra T'Hilim Synagogue. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. I. The marriage of Miss Phyllis Doreen Rosenoerg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Rosenberg, 3782 Grey Avenue, to Leonard ZeU nicker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Zelnicker, 5520 Victoria Avenue, took place in the Ballroom of the Sheraton-Mount Royal Hotel, on December 18, at six o'clock. Rabbi Wilfred Shuchat officiated, assisted by Cantor Nathan Mendelson. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown of white silk peau de soie, re-embroidered with Bourdon lace, had a fitted bodice; scalloped neckline: three-quarter-length sleeves; and a bouffant, pleated skirt, forming a slight train. Her shoulder-length veil of tulle illusion was caught to a headdress of peau de soie petals, and she carried a prayer book trimmed with stephanotis and white orchids. Miss Harriet Ele-antf? Manus, as- maid of honor for her cousin, was in a gown of ivory-coloured silk, with a matching jacket embroidered with seed-pearl-beads; and had a matching headdress. Her nosegay was of apricot-coloured roses. Jack Zelnicker was best man for his brother.
