Mark Graham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Harris Lang, 98 Braemore Gardens, was called to the Reading of the Law, in celebration of his bar-mitzvah at Holy Blossom Temple. He is the brother of Eric, aged seventeen years. A buffet dinner and reception after services had one hundred and fifty guests present. Mrs. Lang wore a black, peau de soie sheath; with a blue tulle hat; and a wristlet of red roses. Mr. and Mrs. I. Ham-bourg, of Hamilton, Ont., were here for the event.
Miss Sandra Penn, daughter of Mrs. Mae Penn, of Edinburgh, Scotland, and the late Joseph Penn, and the fiancee of Dr. James Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Morris, of Dundas, Ont., was honoured at a luncheon, and shower, given by Mesdames S. Shulman, aunt of the bride-elect; B. Shin-well, and M. Shulman, her cousins. Thirty-three guests were present. Mrs, S. Shulman wore a dress of blue taffeta, with flared skirt; and had a corsage of white carnations. Mrs. Shinwell wore a brown, cotton sheath, with matching jacket. Mrs. M. Shulman wore a brown wool sheath. Mrs. Morris, mother of the groom-to-be, wore a green crepe dress, with flared skirt; and had a corsage of white carnations. Miss Penn, the bride-elect, wore a dress of pale-blue chiffon; and had a wristlet of yellow roses. The marriage will take place on January 21, 1962, at.Anehe Sholom Temple, in Hamilton, Ont.
Gary Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wasserman, 9 Geddes Court, was called to the Reading of the Law, in celebration of his bar-mitzvah, at Adath Israel Synagogue. Mrs. Wasserman wore an oyster-coloured, brocaded dress, with bell-shaped skirt; and had a white and gold-tinted orchid corsage. Dr. Allen A. Small, uncle of the bar-mitzvah boy, was master of ceremonies. Mr. Small, the grandfather, asked the blessing over the challah. Saul Elliott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Spring, 1 Tern Hill Avenue, was called to the Reading of the Law, in celebration of his bur-mitzvah, at Beth Jacob Synagogue, with Rabbi A. Zimmerman, and Rabbi B. Hauer officiating. He is the brother of Penny Fern, aged eight years; and of Risa Lynn, four; and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. B. Bergman, 196 Beverley Street; and of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Spring, 45 Ulster Street. Following the services, a Kiddush-luncheon was held at the Synagogue for one hundred and fifty guests. Mrs. Spring, mother of the bar-mitzvah boy, wore a charcoal-gray, boucle, three-piece stroller suit, with a silk blouse, cuffs, and lining, in black and white abstract design; and a white dome-shaped hat of feathers; and had a corsage of white orchids and stephanotis. The following evening, at a dinner and dance at Beth Tzedec Synagogue, two hundred and eighty-five guests were received. Mrs. Joseph Spring, wore a full-length, white satin peau de soie strapless gown. It was designed with flowing pa-niers, from the waistline, down the back of the skirt. She had a white orchid wristlet. Seated at the head-table with the family, were: Rabbi A. Zimmerman; and Mr. and Mrs. S. Luftspring, cousins of the bar-mitzvah boy. The head table was adorned with a gold-coloured tablecloth; and a three-tiered gold-coloured birthday cake; and large standards of a variety of flowers in autumn shades, placed at either end of the table. The guests' tables were adorned with similar cloths, and centerpieces of three pink candles, centered with autumn-toned flowers. David Silverman, uncle of the bar-mitzvah boy, introduced S. Luftspring, a cousin, who was master of ceremonies. B. Bergman, the grandfather, gave the blessing over the challah. Charles Duchess, 185 McCaul Street, died on November 30, at the Toronto General Hospital, at the age of forty-five years. He'is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bella Duchess, 185 McCaul Street; three sisters: Mrs, A. Rosenberg (Freda), of Niagara Falls, N. Y,: Mrs. S. Sol Glazer, 241 Northcliffe Boulevard, died on December 1, in Miami Beach, Florida, at the age of seventy-five years. He was the widower of Mrs. Lily Glazer; and is survived by three daughters: Mrs. S. Winkler (Esther), 6 Ridgevale Drive; Mrs. S.. Rpss (Rose), 241 Northcliffe Boulevard; and Mrs. W. Jacobs (Minnie), of Miami Beach, Florida; a son, Max, 19 Fraserwood Avenue; five grandchildren: Mrs. E. Rot-man (Joyce), of Barrie, Ont., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Winkler; Harvey Ross, 19 Vinci Crescent; Stuart Jacobs; Stanley, and Howard, children of Mr. and Mrs. Max Glazer; and three greatgrandchildren: Laurie Sue, and Judi, children of Mr. and Mrs. E. Mrs. Rebecca Brown, 54 Roberta Drive, died at the Benslow Nursing Home, on December 2, at the age of sixty-six years. She was the widow of David Brown; and is survived by a daughter, Mrs. M. Gross (Lillian), of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Samuel, 54 Roberta Drive; /our grandchildren: Linda Brown; and Howard, Ellen Sue, and Sherie Lynn Gross; three sisters: Mrs. Freda Horowitz, 237 Sandringham Drive; Mrs. Rose Klein, of Indianapolis, Indiana; Mrs. Yetta Vort, of New York; and a brother, Harry Yurman, of New York. Rabbi Bernard Rosen-sweig officiated at funeral services at College Memorial Chapel. Burial took place at Minsker Far-band section of Bathurst Lawn Cemetery. Shiva was at the home.
Samuel Kamin, 9 Tulane Crescent, died on December 4, at New Mount Sinai Hospital, at the age of thirty-eight years. He is survived by: his wife, Mrs. Blanche Kamin; three sons: David, Daniel, and Jonathan; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Kamin, 983 Dundas Street West. He was the brother of Dr. I.
