MONTREAL MARRIAGES
GUBIN-MOSES
The marriage of Miss Beverly Sandra Moses, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Moses, 6060 Grand Boulevard, to Irving Murray Gubin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Gubin, 4261 Barclay Avenue, was solemnized at Chevra T'hilim Synagogue, by Rabbi Morris Werner,

assisted by Cantor W. Frischman. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She was gowned in white, peau de Sole appliqued with lace, and designed with a fitted, lace bodice; scalloped neckline; long sleeves; and full skirt which had a chapel train. Her veti of tulle* illusion was draped to a crown of Seed-pearl-beads, and she carried a prayer book with white orchids and stephanotis. Miss Toba Freedman was maid of honour/ Her blue, chiffon gown was made with a round neckline; and full skirt; and she had a matching tiara; and carried a cascade of pink roses. Mrs. Wayne Isles and Miss Anita Levitt were bridesmaids. The former was in a gown of blue chiffon, with a bolero; and blue crown. The latter was in a gown of blue peau de Boie, made with a full skirt; and a small cape. Both carried semi-cascade bouquets of pink carnations. Harvey Gubin was best man for his brother. The ushers were: Jerry, Joseph and Arthur Moses, brothers of the bride; Theodore Skolnik, Zvi Lewis, Uri Sonra, William Whiteman, Toby Gilzich, Murray Bloom,, and Leonard Dwor-kin. The wedding background was composed of pink and white carnations, roses, and gladioli with
foliage. An orchestra played. A reception, with two hundred guests, was held In the SynaeogUQ hall, Mrs. Moses, mother of the bride, was In a blue, peau de sole gown, made with a bodice worked with seed-pearl-beads; and its own stole; arid worn with a matching, beaded hat Mrs, Gubin, mother of the groom, wore a royal-blue brocaded sheath, which had panels at the back; also a hat of that shade. Their flowers were corsages of pink roses. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Murray Gubin spent their wedding trip at the, Nevele Country Club, in Ellenville, N.Y., the bride travelling in a grey, wool suit. They have taken up residence at 3221 Maplewood Avenue. Mrs. Louis Baseman, of New York, was here for the wedding.

The marriage of Miss Eileen Hermant, daughter of Mrs. William Hermant, 24 Elmsthorpe Avenue, and the late Mr. Hermant, to Julius Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bell, of London, Ont., was solemnized on October 8, at one o'clock, in the Gold Room of the Park Plaza Hotel, by Rabbi Reuben Slonim. The bride was given in marriage by her mother, Mrs. William Hermant, and her brother, Aaron Hermant. She wore a long, white, peau de faille gown appliqued with Alencon lace; and styled with lily-pointed sleeves; and a bouffant skirt with a butterfly bow in back which continued as a chapel train. WAS the matron of honour. She wore an antlque-gold-coloured chiffon gown; with a matching pill-box hat of draped chiffon; and carried a cascade of bronze and gold-coloured chrysanthemums and roses. Miss Eileen Bell, -sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid, gowned like the matron of honour. The best man was Dr. Paul Max. of London, Ont, The ushers were: George Goldberg, Sheldon Kay, Harvey Zarnett, and Jerome Wolf, of London, Ont A luncheon took place in the Gold Room. Mrs. Her. mant, the bride's mother, wore, a blue, peau de- sole gown; with a blue hat. Mrs. Bell, tKe groom's mother, was gowned in chiffon-gown; with a blue hat. Each had a corsage of roses and orchids. The bride went away in a black suit; with a bone-coloured hat. They will reside at 525 Chaplin Crescent.
ENGAGEMENTS
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Halpern, 129 Elm Ridge Drive, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Myrna Halpern, to Jack Shapiro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Shapiro, 42 Camberwell Road. The marriage will take place on July 3, 1962, at Beth Sholom Synagogue.
