The. hiarrlage of Mrs. Sarah Hatmea, daughter of Mrs. Dora .Silverman, 1048 St. Viateur Street West, and the late Samson Silverman, to Raymond Cftplan. son of Mrs. Theodore CaplasflK Gros. venor Avenue, and thl*mle Theodore Oaplan, was solemnized at Temple Emanu-El, on Wednesday, June 21, at one o'clock, by Dr. Harry J. Stern, Rabbi.v Following the ceremony, a luncheon was giveii at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nqrman Caplan, brother and sister-in-law or the groom, in Valois, Quebec. Here for the marriage were; Mrs. Mildred Myers, of New York, aunt of the groom; Miss Emma Adams, of Sudbury, Ont;; and Gordon Carell, of Ottawa, -Ont.; and Mr.and Mrs.Saul Rothschild, of Port Arthur, Ont. Mr, and Mrs. Raymond Caplan have taken up residence in Ottawa, Ont.
ISRAEL-KIRSCHENBAUM
The marriage of Miss Eleanor Kirschenbaum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Issie Kirschenbaum, 6802 Wilderton Avenue, to William Mortimer Israel, son of Myron J. Israel, 4725 Westmount Avenue, and the late Mrs. Celia Israel, took place at Shaare Zion Synagogue, on Tuesday, June 26, at six o'clock. Rabbi Maurice S. Cohen officiated, assisted by Cantor Solomon Gisser. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She was gowned in white peau de soie, with the bodice of Alencon lace; scooped neckline; short sleeves; and sheath skirt under a full overskirt which shaped into a cathedral train. Her finger-tip veil of tulle illusion was placed by a headdress of peau de soie and beaded lace; and she carried a white prayer book with white orchids and stephanotis. Mrs. Alan Sklar, sister of the groom, was matron of honour. She wore a pink chiffon gown. The bridesmaids were: Misses Joan Goldberg, cousin of the groom; Mina Stark, cousin of the bride; Mitzi Bauker, and Bertha Kalifon. "Each wore a gown of mauve-coloured chiffon fashioned with blouson bodice. They had matching bandeaux; and carried nosegays of pink carnations and mauve chrysanthemums. Alan L. Sklar

Mrs. Kirschenbaum, mother of the bride, was in a gown of pink, Alencon lace over chiffon, fashioned with a fitted bodice; a short, lace over-blouse; and an A-line skirt; with a pink, chiffon hat; and had a corsage bouquet of mauve orchids. Mr. and Mrs. William Mortimer Israel, spent their wedding trip in Israel, Italy, and Prance, the bride travelling in a suit of light blue, silk shantung. They have taken up residence at 6280 Northcrest Place. Here for the marriage were: Mr. and Mrs. Abe Seiger, and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Cohen, of New York; Jack Eck-haus, Mrs. Yetta Grauman, and son, Joseph Grauman, of Irving-ton, N. J.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stark, of Brooklyn, N. Y.; Mrs. Sarah Migdel, of New York; and Mr. and Mrs. Issie Kleiner, of Newark, N. J.

The marriage of Miss Rosalie Ann Smolkin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Smolkin, of Arn-
Erlor, Ontario, to Robert Lewis :ane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kane,,of Long Island, N.Y., took place at Agudath Israel Synagogue in Ottawa, on Sunday, June 17, at twelve noon. Rabbi J. Benjamin Friedberg officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of White Alencon lace, over white taffeta, made with a fitted bodice; trimmed with fine chiffon; PeteVPan collar; elbow-length ^sleeves: and a full skirt, scalloped at the hemline. Her shoulder-length veil of tulle illusion was arranged with a tiny, lace, pill-box hat; and she carried a white prayer book with Sweetheart roses and white hyacinths. Miss Candy Kane, sister of the groom, was maid of honour. The bridesmaids were: Misses Ve-ronika von Nostitz, of Campbell-ville, Ont.; Nanette Slone, and Rpsemary Speirs, of Scarboro, Ontario. They wore pale blue, shantung gowns; with petal headdresses; and carried bouquets of pink carnations, and blue hyacinths. Eugene Roth, Jr., of New York, was best man. The ushers were: David Wade Chambers, and Porter Anderson, both of Boston, Mass.; and Robert Smolkin, brother of the bride, of Arnprior. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lewis Kane have taken up residence in Boston. Mrs. P. Hoffman, 5578 Woodbury Avenue, aunt of the bride, was in Ottawa for the marriage.
