Miss Josephine Atkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Atkins, 262 Park Home Avenue, is away on a five-week tour of Europe, and a Mediterranean Cruise, and will also spend three weeks in Israel, having travelled via El Al Israel Airlines.

Cohen, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, were here for the barmitzvah of their nephew, Sidney Sheldon, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lambersky, 1G7 Combe Avenue, who was called to the Reading of the Law, at Beth Emeth Synagogue. Miss Sheila Ann Caplan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Caplan, 22 Water Stret, St. Catharine's, Ont., and the fiancee of Dr. Stanley Earl Sable, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sable, 60 Rose-bury Road, was guest of honour at a presentation luncheon, at Simpson's Arcadian Court, given by: Mesdames Hyman Freedman, 240 Oriole Parkway, and of Miami Beach, Florida, aunt of the groom-to-be; Samuel Freedman, of St, Catharine's Ont.; Harry Yudin, 17 Vesta Drive; and H. Silver, of Peterborough, Ont.; all cousins of the groom-to-be. Miss Sheila Ann Caplan, the honouree, wore a black sheer dress; styled with a wide neckline, and bouffant skirt; and had white accessories and a corsage of white gardenias.
Mrs. David Yaffe, 3905 Bathurst Street, entertained at her home, at a bon voyage party, in honour of Mrs. Morton Lee, 606 Castlefield Avenue, and Mrs. Rose Pearson, 172 Elder Street, who are leaving on a trip to Europe. Mrs. Lee plans to be away for one month; and Mrs. Pearson for seven weeks. The hostess presented each with a gift.
Lawrence, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Appel, 65 Old Park Road, was called to the Reading of the Law, in celebration of his bar-mitzvah, at Beth Sholom Synagogue. He is the brother of Robert, aged sixteen years; and of Shelley, seven. Following the services, Kiddush was observed. The next evening, at a dinner and reception at the Synagogue, for two hundred guests, Mrs. Appel, the mother, wore a deep blue peau-de-soie gown, embellished with beading; and its own portrait stole. Robert, the brother, was master of ceremonies; and Victor Appel, the grandfather, gave the blessing over the challah.

Mrs. Feldman mother of the bride-elect, wore a black and white, printed, silk sheath; and had a corsage oi red and white roses, and carnations. Mrs. Isenberg, mother of the groom-to-be, wore a beige and brown, peau de soie dress, with bell-shaped skirt; and her flowers were Talisman roses. Miss Feldman, the bride-to-be, wore a dress of aquamarine-blue taffeta; with petal hemline, and large flower of that material at the waist. Her flowers were white gardenias. The marriage will take place on December 22, at Beth David Synagogue.

Bernard Bergart, 38 Edengarth Court, died suddenly on July 1, in Vancouver, B.C., at the age of fourteen years. He is survived by: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Bergart; two brothers: David, and Mark; a sister, Marian; ana his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Offer, 21 Neptune Drive. Marvin Jacob Bresler, 706 Bloor Street West, died on June 28, at the Doctor's Hospital, at the age of twenty-two years.
