Prof. Simon will speak on October 19 at 8:30 p.m.; and on October 20, at 9:00 p.m. A Hebrew lecture, sponsored by the Culture Foundation, and Keren Hatarbut, will take place on October 21, at 8:30 p. m. Lieff, of Montreal, national president, will be the guest of honour and chief speaker at the Miriam Lieff Chapter tea on October 17. This chapter, now celebrating its "Bat Mitzvah" anniversary, was organized by Mrs. Lieff-and named in her honour. It will also celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the national organization. Mrs. Lieff was in Israel/ where she was a delegate to the twentieth world conference of the* organization, and officiated at the dedication of the Youth Center at. Bat Yam, built by the Mizrachi Women of Canada, and the Na-, tional Religious Movement in Israel. Mrs. Lieff emphasizes that there is a desperate need now in Israel for more religious schools, youth centers, and nurseries for the children of the religious immigrants who are finding refuge in Israel from North African and some Iron Curtain countries. Mrs. Lieff will present motion pictures of all the Mizrachi Women s institutions which_she visited. The most important IB the 'Beersheba Girls Vocational High School which will soon welcome 200 students, all daughters of religious newcomers, for a complete course in dressmaking, domestic science, or business subjects, in addition to the usual high school curriculum, in an atmosphere of traditional Judaism.
