A quiet wedding was solemnized when Rebeccah Gelbvacks, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.^ Gelbvacks, New York City,- was married to Isadore Eisen, of Toronto, son of Mrs. M, N. Eisen, Rabbi J. Weinreb officiating. Only the immediate relatives and friends of the bride were present. Mr. and Mrs. Eisen later left for a trip to the States. On their return the couple will reside at 12 Bellevue Avenue, Toronto.

Little Joy Brickner celebrated her first birthday with a party given by her mother, Mrs. B. R. Brickner, Sunday afternoon at her home 66 Highlands avenue. There were 24 little ones present, ranging in age from three to five years. Paul Nathanson told the story of "Jack and the Beanstalk," while stereopticon slides illustrated the narrative.
A Chanukah party for the afternoon of December 28 is being planned by the entertainment committee of the Temple Sisterhood of the Holy Blossom Synagogue. Mrs. H. L. Nusbaum is chairman and working with her are Miss Clara Kallmeyer, Mrs. B. Raz, Mrs. I. Singer, Mrs. J. E. Tarshis,* Mrs. W. Gettes, Mrs. A. I. Willmsky, Mrs. M. Fisher and Mrs. B. R. Brickner. They will be hostesses at tea and each member will be invited to bring a friend. A program of entertainment is being arranged, the affair to take place in the Temple.

At five o'clock Wednesday afternoon last, the marriage of Miss Anna Snider-man, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.'Sniderman, to Louis Cadesky, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Cadesky, Borden street, was solemnized. Rabbi J. Gordon, assisted by Rabbi J. Siegel officiated. The bride, who was given away by her parents, looked charming in a gx>wn of white kittens' ear crepe, heavily embroidered with beads, with court train of white georgette edged with pink tissue. She carried a bouquet of bridal roses. Miss Ann Finsten, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, wearing a blue sequin gown with black tulle hat. She carried a bouquet of Richmond roses. The bridesmaids were Miss Rose Rosen-bloom, in old gold velvet with large black tulle picture hat, carrying Sweetheart roses, and Miss Freda Sapera, gowned in pink satin with overdress of black net, black tulle hat, and carrying Sweetheart roses.
A reception and dance were held after the ceremony in-Bingham's Rainbow Room. Mr. and Mrs, M. The bazaar held by the,friends of Soviet Russia at the Foresters' Hall on College street, which lasted three days, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, was a huge success. It was attended by the Workmen's Council branches and a large crowd gave their hearty-support.
