The marriage of Miss Carol Zyk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Zyk, 5440 Esplanade Avenue, to Louis A. Rothstein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Rothstein, 2846 Mantha Street, was solemnized at Shorn-rim Laboker-Beth Yehudah-Shaare Tefillah Synagogue, on Sunday, December 23, at six o'clock. Dr. Chaira N. Denburg, Rabbi, officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown was of white, peau de soie appli-
?ued with Alencon lace. It was ashioned with a fitted bodice: high neckline,* long sleeves; ana full bouffant skirt. Her veil of tulle illusion was topped by an or. ganza, flower headpiece; and bhe carried a prayer book with white orchids. Mrs. Menachem Malatzky was matron of honour for her cousin, wearing an aquamarine-blue, peau de soie gown; appliqued with matching flowers. Her pillbox hat was of the same shade of blue; and she carried a cascade of white and blue carnations. The bridesmaids were: Missea Doreen Isser, Shirley Overland, Brenda Zyk, cousin of the bride: and Susan Rothstein, sister of the groom. Each wore an aquamarine-blue chiffon gown, cut with fitted bodice; and full, bouffant skirts. Their crowns were of matching material; and they carried semi-cascades of white and blue carnations. Sylvia Schmerer, aged eleven years, cousin of the groom, was junior bridesmaid. She wore a powder-blue party dress; with matching crown; and carried a nosegay of blue and white carnations. Sharon Schmerer, aged seven years, cousin of the groom, was flower girl, wearing a dlue, nylon, party dress; also a bandeau 01 blue and white carnations; and carried a basket of the same flowers. Joseph Schmerer, uncle of the groom, was best man. The ushers were: Irving Rothstein, brother of
the groom; Israel Zyk, brother of the brjde{ Zatman Yagay. Ronald
Sotenberg, and Leon, and Jotepb lekarman. Standards of wUta and pink carnations, rosea, and chrysanthemums beautified the Synagogue. An orchestra played tbe wedding music Afterwards a reception for three hundred and twenty guesU was held in the Synagogue hail. Mrs. 'Zyk, the bride's mother, wore a royal-blue, peau de sole gown, which had a_ fitted bodice; and a bell-shaped, draped skirt; also a hat waa of the same shade; and her flowers were a corsage of white orchids. Mrs. Rotheatein, the groom's mother, was in a gold-coloured, peau de spie gown, fashioned with a full skirt; with a matching, pill-box hat; and her corsage was of gold-coloured orchids. Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Rothstein spent their wedding trip at the Nevele Country Club, in Ellenville, N. Y., the bride departing in a blue, knitted suit. They have taken up residence st 4680 Linton Avenue. Here for the marriage were: Mr. and Mrs. Menachem Malatsky; and Aurelia, and Elinor, of Toronto, Ont., cousins of the bride; Dr. and Mrs. S. N. Rothstein, and Edward, and Jeffrey, of Long Island, N. Y.; Joseph Lemberg, of Brooklyn. N.Y., cousin of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Lemberg. of Norwich, Conn., cousins of the bride; and A. Silverberg, of New York.

Ralph Gould, Webster Terrace, Halifax, died suddenly at Lowell, Mass., while returning from Florida. He was fifty-two years old. He is survived by his daughter, Miss Sandra Gould, a student at the University of Manitoba; a son, Donald, a student at King's College School, in Windsor, Ont.; and a sister, Miss Rose Gould, of Halifax.
