He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sara Sigraan Backman; two sons: Avrum, aged sixteen years; and Carl, fourteen; six sisters: Mrs. A, Sternberg (Dora), 898 Wiseman Avenue; Mrs. Saul Par-nes (Annie), of Toronto, Ont; Mrs. H. Smiley (Esther), 5524 Silverson Street; Mrs. H. Goodman (Toby), 4855 Walkiey Avenue; Misses Rose Backman, 5850 Souart Avenue; and Fannie Backman, of Montreal. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Backman. Funeral services took place from Paperman's. Rabbi David Roth officiated. Burial was at the Hebrew Sick Protective Association Cemetery. Shiva was at the home.
