Davaar Apartments, Van Home and Davaar Avenue
Owner and Builder: B. Kaplan
Architect: U. T. Benoit
THESE apartments, which are now ready for occupation, offer the most modern ideas in buildings. Ideally located, they are far from the roar and tumult of passing traffic, yet close to an excellent street car service. The building is fire-proofand in an exclusive part of Outremont. The apartments are each of five bright and spacious rooms. The main entrance hall is of marble, enhanced by beautifully decorated walls, and especially designed fixtures. The lobbies are large, and ornamented in charming effects that blend with the marble staircase which leads to the upper floors. The telephone system to the apartments and to the janitor is a new installation device.
Each apartment has a private foyer with a large window and a clothes cupboard that is well adapted for guests. Throughout each apartment the electric fixtures match the decorative scheme. There are one and two balconies with each suite of rooms, ample closet space, well arranged linen closets, numerous service plugs in every room, and labour-saving devices of all kinds. The living-room is spacious and finished in solid mahogany. The fire-place is of decorative travatine. There are large windows, that lead to a lovely view. Attractive wall brackets add to the beauty.
The dining-room and hall are finished in walnut, the two bedrooms in an ivory tint. The papering will be to suit the taste of the individual.
The bath-rooms are tiled, with showers and set in tubs, medicine cabinets, flushometer toilets and plugs for hair tongs, etc.
The large bright kitchens are most modern and a delight to any woman. Large windows, ironing boards, broom chests, incinerators, a large white metal duco finish pantry (with window) equipped with plenty of shelves, Frigidaire, drying racks, leaded glass windows, stationary tubs, and plugs for toaster, irons, etc., make these kitchens most efficient and cheerful. There is twenty-four-hour janitor service, a well-equipped clothes line on the roof, washing and drying room in the cellar, locker rooms in the basement, and a fine service entrance that is tiled and well arranged with convenient bells for each apartment.
These are apartments you will be glad to point to as your own. They may be seen by appointmentphone Bel. 3456, or 3457, or by calling at the premises at Van Home and Davaar Avenue.
Although the suites are highly attractive the rents are decidedly reasonable.
