A meeting of the Religious School and Committee and the School Faculty, will be held Tuesday evening, January 17, at 8.15 p.m., in the Temple House, with Dr. Lyon Berco-vitch as chairman. Sunday, January 15, the children's choir of the Montreal Hebrew Orphans' Home will sing in the Temple Emanu-El Religious School Assembly, under the direction of Mrs. J. Roston. Musical service for Friday evening, January 13, is under the direction of George M. Brewer.

A special bar-mitrvah class is being organized in the Shaar Hashomayim Religious School for boys between eleven and .thirteen, who will take a regular course of religion and musical training leading to bar-mitryah.
A Parents' Association was organized Sunday, January 8, to carry out th* educational policies, of the religious school. ' Executive committee elected: Philip Levy, I. Lande, M. J. Heillig, Mesdames IXCohen, M. Solomon, I. B. Kirschberg and A. W. Jacobs. This committee will appoint new members. First meeting was held Wednesday, January 11, to organise the periodical meetings and to increase membership.

Queen Esther Chapter held a "Travelogue to Palestine" for members and friends, January 9. Invitations were in the orm of passports. Before the trip Mrs. L. Trachtenberg and E>. A. Miller. The cruise was conducted by Mrs. S. Kahn from Montreal through Jerusalem, and by Mrs. H. Tashis from Jerusalem back to the boat at Jaffa. Mesdames A. Freed, S. Jewish Junior Welfare League met Monday night, January 9, in the Community Centre of Shaar Hasho* mayim Synagogue, Mi&s Louise de Sola, president, in the chair. N. S. Fineberg gave the interpretation of the Biblical phrase '.'an act of loving kindness." Mr. Fineberg outlined the scope of Hebrew-free loan associations. A vote of thanks was moved by Mrs, A. B. Illievit*. Announcement was made by the- president that Miss Anne S. Lerner had been* appointed convener of the , publicity committee, following the resignation of Miss Lena Ashkaloney. Proceeds of the Welfare League tea-room in the MedkaP Dental Building go to the Fresh Air Fund of the Jewish Junior Welfare League.. This Fresh Air Fund is the means of sending poor mothers and their, babies for a rest during the summer-months. Next meeting of the' League, February 6, with Rabbi H. J. Stern/ of, Temple Emanu-El, as speaker.
