Shaare Tefila, better known as the Austrian syngagoue, Milton Street, is one of the oldest synagogues in the city. Members of this congregation were founders of Anshe Sephard Talmud Torah (Milton Street) wnich is now one of > the constituent schools of the United Talmud Torahs of Montreal. This synagogue has recently been redecorated, with mural paintings repre-
senting the twelve tribes of Israel, the western wall of the Beth Hamikdosh (Kossel Hamarovi), the dream of Jacob, and other biblical pictures. The heavenly starred blue of the ceilings rivals the skies of Galilee. These decorations were made possible through the efforts of H. Harris, who is also a vice president of the United Talmud Torahs, and his committee, J. Hubscher, M. Guttman, and M. Gross.
