The marriage of Miss Eleanor Swartz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Swartz, 24 Renshaw Street, to Harvey Joel Balasofsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. IrVing Balasofsky. 100 Acton Avenue,,was solemnized at Beth Sholom Bynagogve, on Tuesday, June 23, at hair-past six o'clock, by Rabbi David Monson and Rabbi M. Kirshenblatt, and Rabbi S. Lanener, assisted by Cantor Henry Wahrman. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She wore a sheath gown of white organza. The fitted bodice
had a scooped neckline; and long sleeves; with a matching, Empire jacket; appliqued with cut-work satin bows. The back of the jacket finished in a Cathedral train, with the hemline having matching appliques. Her tulle illusion veil was arranged with a matching headdress: and she carried a cascade of white roses, and stephanotis. Miss Phyllis Taub was the maid of honour. She wore an Empire gown, composed of a white flowered bodice ; and mint-green georgette skirt The bridesmaids were: Misses Anne Bell, Marsha Berg, cousins of the groom; Shelly Zacks, cousin of the bride; Helen I/eider, Sharon Shoom, and Judi Williams. They each wore a sleeveless gown. with a bodice of white chiffon; and skirt, with an underskirt of mint-green; with matching bands at the waistline. Miriam Balasofsky, sister of the groom, the junior bridesmaid, was dressed like the senior bridesmaids. All attendants had matching headpieces; and carried cascade oouquets of white carnations and Talisman roses. Larry Bell, cousin of the groom, was best man. The ushers were: Allan Swart*, brother of thai Jbt&fe; David Talbot, cousin of UMt^xoosn;" Albert Baaian, Robert Pbfllip*, �nd Thomas Lobel, and Morrie awaits, cousin of the bride. Standards of white and green formed the wedding background. Two hundred and seventy-five guests were received in the Synagogue hall. Mrs. Swartz, mother of �he bride, wore a mint-green chiffon, full-length -sheath, with a beaded bodice; and two back panels. Mrs. Balasofsky, mother of the groom, was in a ribboned lace gown, shading from pale yellow to apple-green. The fitted bodice had a neckline, high in the front; and low in the pack. Each had a beaded bow headpiece; and carried an evening bag adorned with white orchids. Mrs. Harry Newraark, grandmother of the bride, wore a grey-blue chiffon gown; with a feathered headpiece; and a corsage of orchids. Mrs. Bessie Balasofsky, grandmother of the groom, wore a pale blue, lace gown; with matching hat and an orchid corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Joel Balasofsky left via Air Canada to spend their honeymoon in New York. The bride departed in a yellow linen suit, with a white gardenia corsage. They have taken up residence at 100 Acton Avenue. Here for the marriage were: Mr. and Mrs. A. Bell, of Detroit, Mich.; M.
