have had a most succearful twenty-one, months of efforts and the figures of articles finished and work done are astounding. But the very fact that there has been such a response to demands has resulted in a slackening of the energies of the volunteers. I am alarmed at the drop in requisitions for supplies coming in from Branches. If it continues we are going to be faced with a serious shortage this Fall. We must increase our efforts, not slacken off. With the extension of the war rone the demands to be made on the Red Cross will be all the greater. These demands will come to every Red Cross Society the world over; they will be made on The Canadian Red Cross Society which means demands on every Red Cross Branch and on every Red Cross worker. We must recruit new workers from those growing up in years to take their places beside their elders. Other thing* are necessary for the conduct of War but nothing can take the place of the Supplies which emanate from the working of materials in the spare hours of thousands of Red Cross Volunteers/' The Jewish Branch will be open every day from Monday through Thursday, 9 ajn. until 5 p.m., work rooms in the Sommer Building.
