The marring* of Bella Hose, daughter of the late Loul* Gilbert and of Mra Gilbert, to Cadet Nat H. Edelsteln, Eastern Officers' Training Centre, Brockvllle. son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Edelsteln, of Ottawa, took place on Wednesday, December 25th, at three o'clock, at the home of the bride's mother, 4123 Western Avenue, the Rev..Dr. Herman Abramowitz officiating. Chrysanthemums were used as decoration. The bride was given away by her brother. George L. Gilbert. She wore a frock of turquoise blue crepe, with hat and accessories' to match, and carried a bouquet of white roses. Mrs. Arthur D. Ruby, who was her sister's only attendant, wore a gown of pale grey crepe, and a match* ing feather bat and carried a aandspray of pink roses. Pilot officer Donald Snipper, R.CJLF., acted as best man for Cadet Edelsteln. Mrs. Gilbert, the bride's mother, was gowned In rose colored crepe, and carried Talisman rones. The marriage of Rosalyn, youngest daughter of L Saftzman and the late Mrs. Etta Seltzman, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white brocaded satin gown, with e long veil, and carried a bouquet of HUes. CLASS IN COOKERY
Abraham Raginsky died on Sunday, January 4th, in his 71st year, at the Western Hospital. Mr. Raginsky was born in Rogochov, Russia, and came to Montreal in 1906. He was president of Bnai Jacob Synagogue. Surviving are his wife, Anna Selick; one daughter, Mrs. J. Segali; three sons, Alex, Harry, and Dr. B. Raginsky, and a step-eon, Leo Selick; also nine grandchildren, all of Montreal. Funeral services were held at the Bnai Jacob Synagogue and interment was made at Bnai Jacob Cemetery. Shiva at 1555 La fete Avenue. Funeral service was held at 1 p-m. at Bnai Jacob Synagogue, Rabbi E. Levy and Rabbi M. Wachtfogel officiated. MEAT BALLS AND CABBAGE
one head of cabbage juice of one lemon
one-and-a-half pounds of one-quarter cup uncooked
minced meat rice
two tablespoons brown sugar one-half cup raisins
Boil cabbage for about five minutes, until leaves may be separated. Mix meat with rice, salt and pepper and a little cold water. Form into balls and wrap each in a cabbage leaf. Place in pot with a little chicken fat, sail mid pepper, raisins and a large sliced onion. Cover with boiling water, cook about half hour, then add sugar, juice of lemon and cook for several hours, adding seasoning to taste and water when necessary. Place in oven in uncovered dish to brown for half an hour.
