Mr. and Mrs C. Peckman, Borden Street were honored at a twentieth anniversary dinner, by twenty of their friends. Following this, everyone spent the evening at the home of Mr. Peckman's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. J. Shiff, Euclid Avenue. They were presented with a bridge ser.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Bernstein, Grace Street were hosts at a dinner and reception at Chudleigh House to celebrate the bar-mitzvah of their son, Bernard. About one hundred and twenty-five guests were present. Mrs. Bernstein wore a dress with black skirt and top of blue trimmed with silver, and a corsage of red roses. Mr. Bernstein acted as toastmas-ter, and Rabbi Samuel Sachs, Jack Samuels, Samuel Posluas, and S. Bernstein, grandfather of the bai-mitzvah spoke.

Levitt takes place on February 22nd. The honoree wore a blue crepe frock and corsage of roses and sweatpeas; her mother, Mrs. H. Mandel, wore blue, with a corsage of roses; and Mrs. B. � The Palestine Government has appointed Miss Sy:via Ge'ber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gelber. of Toronto, to the British Colonial Service. Department of Labour, for Palestine. Miss GelbeT has lived in Palestine for eight years. Home in Canada on leave. M as Gelber returned at once to her post of duty tn Palestine upon the declaration of war in 1939. She was born in Toronto and educated at Havergal College and in New York.

Miss Jennie Enchln, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Z. Enchln, Grenadier Road, became the bride of Joseph Buddlsh, son of Mrs. R. Buddish, and the late D. Buddlsh, at the Men of England Synagogue, on Febraury 3rd, Rabbi Samuel Sachs, Rabbi M. H. Levy, and Rev. Boris Charioff officiating. David Wolowitz played the wedding music, and Miss Marian Parks sang "Until." The bride was given in marriage by her parents; Her gown was of white slipper satin, made on long torso lines, with full skirt which aided in a long train. The yoke was of double silk net and extended just over the shouMers, and the long sleeves came to points over the wrists. The bride had her grandmother's pearls, and h*r full length veil of tulle illusion fell from a pearl studded crown. She carried si caaquade bouquet of Calla and Rubrum lilies. Miss Dorothy Enchln, sister of the brid\ was maid of honor, hi an orchid net gown with a honey-gold torso Jacket with a matching halo and shoulder-length veil, and she carried a nosegay or yellow roses and orchid Rubrum lilies. Miss Myra Sacks, of Baltimore, MiL, was junior bridesmaid, in a floor-length gown of pale blue net with satin insets, trimmed with pink ribbons, with a pink bow In her hair and a nosegay of pink roses. The bridesmaids were Misses Hannah Salem and Buddv Buddish in pink, and Miss Rose Buddish and Mrs. Buell Manning, in blue, all wearing gowns made on similar lines, and embroidered Jackets. The headdresses were similar to that of the maid of honor, and they carried nosegays of roses and Rubrum lilies. Paul Buddlsh, brother of the groom, was best man. The ushers were: Max Shapiro, Louis Enchln, brother of the groom, Buell Manning and Morry Vlgoda. At the dinner for two hundred guests, and reception, at the Chudleigh House, the bride's mother wore a black crepe gown, with gold beaded neckline and gold accessories, and a corsage of Talisman roses; the groom's mother, black sheer, with silver accessories, and a corsage of red roses. Mrs. M. Rosen, of Baltimore, Md.. grandmother of the bride, assisted. For the wedding trip to the Laurentians, the brtde wore a beige wool jersey dress, trimmed with brown, beige coat and hat beavtr trimmed, and matching accessories, and a corsage of orchida. They will live in Toronto. Out-of-town guests were: Mrs. M. Rosen, Mr. and Mrs. Louis L Fink.
