Mr. and Mrs. Ben. Katz, of Buffalo, N.Y., visited the latter's mother, Mrs. S. Davis, Robert Street, for a few days.
Mrs. H. Mazer, Manning Avenue, will spend a month in Edmonton, Alta., visiting her brother-in. law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. S. Simkin, and will also stop off at Asquith, Sask., to visit her sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. B. Levy, and Mr. and Mrs. R. Miller.
Mrs. S. Katz and daughter, Merle, of Buffalo, N.Y., visited the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.
Etin, 62 Sullivan Street, for a few days, the latter returning to Buffalo with them for a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. B. Brown, 9 Oxford Street, are spending a month in Edmonton, Alta., with the former's brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. S. Simkin, and will also stop at Asquith, Sask., to visit the former's nephews and nieceB, Mr. and Mrs. B. Levy, and Mr. and Mrs. R. Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. W. Gryfe, 38 Pine-wood Avenue, were at home in honour of the bar-mitzvah of their son, Cyril. Mrs. Gryfe wore a grey crepe dress, receiving about two hundred guests, amone them, B. Berk, of New York.

Miss Sylvia Caplan, daughter of Solomon Caplan, 79 Oxford Street, graduated at Temple Emanuel, in Paterson, N.J., having received her nursing education at Paterson State Teachers College, and Barn-ert Memorial Hospital, in Paterson, NJ.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Goldhar, 164 Markham Street, entertained at a dinner for twenty guests, in honour of their son, Samuel, who has returned from overseas, after serving one and a half gears, in England. Mrs. Goldhar wore a black crepe dress trimmed with sequins.

A luncheon was given at the Vanity Fair Room of the King Edward Hotel by Mesdames M. Goldhar, L. Goldhar, and S. Zelt-cer, for Miss Pearl Goldhar, whose marriage to Jack Gertzbein takes place on June 23. The honoree wore a powder-blue dress, with matching accessories. The table had a centrepiece of mixed spring flowers. One hundred and twenty guests were present.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mayzel, 66 Roxton Road, were at home in honour of their son-in-law, Joseph Sil-verberg, R.C.A.F., who returned after spending one year overseas. Mrs. Mayzel wore a print dress, and was assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Silverberg, in a print dress. Mioses Betty Mayzel, Beatrice Naiman, and Pearl Spivak also assisted. The table was decorated with roses, a gift to Mrs. Mayzel from her son-in-law, and had as a centrepiece a huge cake, inscribed. The room was decorated with streamers, and two hundred guests called.
Mrs. S. Silverberg, 8 Leonard Avenue, entertained for Miss Frances Winipole, fiancee of Irving Kline, of Washington, D.C., who will be married some time in June. Guests present were: Mesdames H. Klyman, S. Heller, S. Rosen, J. Nightingale, I. Gellman, S. Silverberg, M. Kaufman, L. Hellin, P. Winipole. J. Wineanaker, A. Waeh-ter, M. Kamin, M. Greenspan, V. Giblom, S. Nisenbaum, H. Nisen-baum, and W. Miller. Mrs. Silverberg wore a brown dress, trimmed with lime-green, and was assisted by her mother, Mrs. A. Wachter, in a black crepe dress. The bride-elect's mother, Mrs. P. Winipole,"wore a turquoise-blue crepe dress, and the honoree a grey crepe dress. The table was covered with a lace table cloth, and decorated with flowers as a centrepiece, and candles at each end.
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Wellman, 547 Clendenan Avenue, gave a party to celebrate their daughter Evelyn's sixteenth birthday. Evelyn wore a white net dress, and a corsage of yellow roses. The guests went dancing and then to the home of Miss Frances Findlay, 2910 Dundas Street West. The marriage of Miss Lottie Woloshen, daughter of A. Wolo-shen, 104 Beverley Street, formerly of Quebec City, to David Israel Pressman, son of Mrs. Molly Pressman, 8 Gore Street, and the late I. Pressman, took place on Friday, May 3, at the home of Rabbi B. Charloff, 406 Markham Street, who officiated. Miss Beatrice Wagaan sang "Because", accompanied at the piano by Mrs. B. Charloff. Mendel Wexler, 207 Beverley Street, died at the age of eighty, on June 3. He is survived by his son, Samuel, and his daughters, Mrs. H. Finkelstein, Mrs. J. Arons, Mrs. S. Gordon, Mrs. J. Millstone, Mrs. M. Milgram; fourteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral was held at Benjamin's Funeral Parlours, and interment took place at Roselawn Cemetery.
