Soon after Mr. Ulmann sold the magazine and returned to New York, where, with the late Alonzo Rothschild, he founded another trade publication, The Jewelers' Weekly. He continued his interest in the city's history, and decided to write a book about New York that would interest children. Out of this plan grew "A Landmark History of New York."
He abandoned the trade paper to join the stock brokerage firm of Sulzbacher, Granger & Co., Ill Broadway, where he became a senior partner. He retired in 1938 but kept a room in the firm's office, which he visited almost daily. While he was associated with the firm he published "Money talks," a simplified exposition of the country's financial system.
Mr. Ulmann was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the New York Historical Society and the Fairview Country Club.
A widower, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Samuel.

Here are the basic ingredients of the romance of the West. This lusty, beauteous, pioneer-spirited community, funnel to the world's bread basket is the city through which poured the thousands of intrepid land seekers, fanning out to break the fertile soil, huild for Canada the multi-million acred grain and rattle empire that is the Prairies today.
In the cily, proper, are the most spacious railway yards in the world under one system. It ia one of the greatest grain centres in the world. Highly civilized architecture distinguishes its mammoth department store* and its gracioua pirrd churches.
