Sherback, Dun-lop Avenue, were hosts at a dinner at Mirsky's, with fifteen guests present, in honour of the brith of their son, Ronald David, brother of Harold, Dennis, and Allan; and grandson of Mrs. T. Sherback, Darlington Avenue. The godparents are Irving Orans, of New York, and Mrs. Moe Bonder, Decarie Boulevard.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kertzman, 6034 Hutchison Street, celebrated their twenty-fifth silver wedding anniversary at a dinner at Mirsky's, with about seventy-guests present. The head table held a centrepiece of roses and carnations, trimmed with silver ribbon, and the other tables had spring flowers. Mrs. Kertzman received in a silver-gray crepe afternoon dress, with rhine-stone accessories, and a corsage of Talisman roses. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Landau, of Ottawa, Ont., brother-in-law and sister of Mrs. Kertzman; Mr. and Mrs. B. Bender, of New York, cousins of the couple; and Mrs. N. Kotz, of Bronx, N.Y., were guests. Mr. and Mrs. Kertzman have two sons, Isidor and Edward Kertzman.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bloom, 5591 St. Urbain Street, entertained twenty guests at a surprise party in honour of their daughter, Miss Trudy Bloom, who celebrated her twentieth birthday. Mrs. Bloom wore a black crepe dress, trimmed' with blue lace; which had a V-neck-line, short sleeves, and a full skirt. Mrs. H. Zucknick, sister of the hon-ouree, assisted, in a black crepe dress, fashioned with a high round neckline, long fitted sleeves, and a draped skirt, with a corsage of red roses. The honouree wore a taffeta print dress, designed with a high round neckline, short sleeves, and a full skirt, and a corsage of red carnations. Those present were: Mr. ancj Mrs. H. Zucknick, Mr. and Mrs. R. Reisler, and Mr. and Mrs. B. Aronovitch, Misses Rebecca Michaels, Lillian Devine, Evelyn Fagen, Reva Arshinoff, Minnie Krasevitz; and Louis Adelman, Louis Chadnick, Murray Goldstein, Michael Karol, Saul Orback, and Nathan Gorbelnick. The table was decorated with a birthday cake trimmed with red roses, and a centrepiece of spring flowers.
Arthur Jack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Seligman, City Hall Avenue, was called to the Reading of the Law at Beth Itzach Synagogue. He is the brother of Mona and Linda; and grandson of H. Seligman, Clark Street. Kiddush followed the ceremony. The following evening, one hundred and sixty guests were received at a dinner at Chevra Shass Synagogue.
