To Import Chanukah Parcels From Israel
A group of Asbury Park, N. J., businessmen has invested $300,000 in a project to promote the export of Israel products. The first mer-chamdise they are bringing to the United States will be special Chanukah packages containing a variety of delicacies made in Israel. The idea of reversing the sending of packages was originated by Zemel Resnick, amusement park owner, vAw now serves as secretary of the Israel-Middle East Corporation, located at the Empire State Building.
The Chanukah packages, which will sell for $10.60, each contain a pint of olive oil, a box of three cakes of olive oil soap, candied etrog and citrus peels, marmalade,

mulberry jam, mints, a can of ge-filte fish, a can of "sabre" (cactus fruit) compote, a can of dill pickles, three pounds of candy, 10 post-cards, tube of toothpaste, and a box of Chanukah candles. In attempting to increase exports and create a more equitable balance of trade, the people of Israel forego many of these luxuries themselves. Hand-tailored men's cashmere and wool overcoats made in Israel are now on sale hi the United States. A shipment of several hundred winter-weight coats, first of their kind ever to reach the American market from Israel, were flown from Jerusalem 'by Trans-World Airlines, to reach retail stores in time for the winter season.
The coats are of two types a mixture of cashmere and wool and all-wool and were 'hand-made by Heilig and Company of Jerusalem whose tailors had practiced their trade in Europe for many years. The Company is one of tihe leading men's clothing manufacturers in Israel and recently enlarged its factory to give employment to new immigrants. Orders previously placed by Abraham and Strauss, of Brooklyn, N. Y., and Blooming-dale's New York, are being filled from the shipment. Walter Easton, 915 Broadway, is United States representative of the Israel manufacturer and has a srtock of the garments on hand for retailers.
