Morris, 557, Melrose Avenue; and cheques were issued to' the needy for the Holidays. A rummage sale will be ,held at -3018, Bathurst Street, on Wednesday, October 20.

Don Mills Chapter 1010 will hold a "Tea for Democracy" on Sunday, October 31, at the Yorkdale Auditorium; tea convener, Mrs. Edward Kaminsky. The Bnai Brith Women's Anti-Defamation League doll display will be shown that afternoon. These groups will assist: Canadian Negro Women's Clubs, Community Folk Art Council, Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire, and the International Cooperation Year Committee. fifteen-pound turkey one-quoYler cup peanut oil

one pound prunes one cup bread crumbs
one pound apples' one egg
Soak'pcunes over night;-remove pits. Peel and quarter apples. Mix with other ingredients. Stuff bird. Skewer; or sew up opening. Brush turkey with oil, and seasoning. Wrap in aluminum foil/ place in roasting pan, and bake lor two hobrs. at three hundred and fifty degrees, jted'uce heat to three hundred degrees, and cook for another two or two and one-half hours,.or until bird is tender. Open foil for the last half-hour so that the turkey can brown.

one cup milk t one cup sugar
four and one-half cups self- three tablespoons ^margarine

Beat eggs, and sugar, Add milk, and melted margarine, and mix until smooth. Sift in sifted flour, nutmeg, and cinnamon. 'Make a soft dough. Let starYd for thirty minutes. Remove.dough onto a floured board and pat to one-half-inch in thickness. Cut with doughnut culler. Fry in deep hot fat or oil, at three hundred and eighty degrees. Turn them on both sides till slightly brown. Remove from oil and place them on waxed paper. Sprinkle with icing sugar if desired. Makes two and one-half dozen doughnuts.

Dr. Zimmerman, a life member of Hart House, at the University of Toronto, is well-known for his hobby of making gold miniatures, and jewellery, for which he has received awards at the Canadian National Exhibition.
