Religious women meet
Israel could become a nation devoid of Jewish values, warned an American activist at the recent convention of Emunah Women of Canada.
Tile comment was made by Dr. Sylvia Schonfeld, president of Emunah of America, at the convention of the Canadian religious women's organization.
The organization, Schonfeld pointed out, serves children of need in Israel so that they will grow to their full potential and speak to the world with the values of halachali. Emunah projects include four
children's homes, a high school for girls, 120 daycare centres and the Emunah College.
Another guest speaker, Rocliel Sylvctsky, chair of Emunah Israel, commended Emunah Canada for its work in supporting the" crisis centre for children at risk in Neve Michael.
The meeting, which was held April 25 and 26 at Ottawa's Chateau Laurier, elected Judith Pachino as national president. Participation from Western Canada included Liisa King, president of Emunah Vancouver. □
