Making history
History was made at the' Louis Brier Home and Hospital recently when Lee Simpson became the first female elected as president.
A well-respected community worker, Simpson became acting president last fall and was formally elected as president at the society's annual general meeting in the spring.

Also elected to the executive committee were vice-presidents Mark Nussbaum, Mark Zlotnik and Yair Tabcnkin; treasurer Lu-cien Lieberman; and recording secretary Cindy Charkow. Continuing as past-president is Her-schel Porte.
Elected to the board of trustees, for a three-year term are Mark . Nussbaum, Nassa Selwyn, Gary Segal, Lee Simpson and Harvey Permack. Elected for a two-year term is Elaine Lipetz. Elected for a one-year term are Terri Cohen and Dr. Larry Rossoff. Sam Zalkow, outgoing vice-president, was elected as a life governor. • Stepping down as board mem-- bers are Michael Gcller, Andrea Jones, Ralph Schwartzman and Sam Zalkow.
. In her address at the AGM, Simpson reminded the audience that the waiting list had grown to 120, which means that it could take one and one-half years to be admitted to Louis Brier.
