Reform biennial meeting
The Pacific Northwest Council, Union of American Hebrew Congregations biennial conference, Connecting—Nurturing our Reform Jewish Community in the Pacific Northwest, is being held in partnership with regional affiliates of the Women of Reform Judaism and the North American Federation of Temple Brotherhoods March 23-25 in Bellevue, Wash.
The conference marks the first regional biennial for the Pacific Northwest Council since it became its own UAHC region in 1999. The weekend comprises worship and study opportunities with regional and national leaders, including Rabbi David Saperstein, director of the Religious Action Centre of Reform Judaism in Washington, D.C., and Rabbi Lewis Barth, dean of tlic Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Los Angeles.
As well, regional leaders will be installed, led by Sonia Siegal Vexler of Snohomish, Wash., as president of tlie Pacific Northwest Council. Reform Jews from Wasliington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Alaska and British Columbia will be attending the conference. Saturday evening entertainment will be provided by Emmy Award-winning performer Doug Cotler and Julie Silver. □
