CONCORDIA CLUB, VANCOUVER By M. sos^in.
The Concosdia Club was founded about four years ago by a few young businnss and professional men of the city for ihe purpose of providing a medium of better social intercourse among the young Jewish men, ssd to create an atmosphere of hsitfdt f^ilowsbip among its own members. Bound together by ties of good fellowship, they would be better adapted to lend assistance in bettering conditions in the community. To encourage the idea of good fellowship the membershipr has deliberately been limited to thirty for the prescnt.^!'. ■ ■ r:,-!,
During the course of its existence the Club has been successful in creating and cementing real fellowship and friendship among its members.
The present officers of the organization consist of: President, W. Levin; Vice-President, A. C. Cohen; Treasu rer. Pi Burde; Secretary, Morris Soskin.

THE WORKMEN'S CIRCLE;

The Workmen's Circle is a Jewish Fraternal Grdeii haying a membership of about 85vO0O atid a. dipitel $3,000,000 to meet its insurance and sickness obligations. However; it is not merely a society for giving ib members cheajp insurance aittd sick benefits; it is a greiat culturaL agency. It is bringing to the masses of the people, by nieaiis of books, magazines and special papers by experts, the best in science, art and general culture. The Order maintains a first-class Consumptive Sanatorium for the benefit of its members; it is building a Home for the Aged, and is maintaining 65 Jewish schools. The main purpose of the organization is to get the Jewish worker away from dependence on charity and make him self-sustaining and self-reliant.
The Order issues insurance policies up to $1,000.00 and sick benefits of $8.00 per week, besides other minor benefits. The local Circle was organized several months ago, and it hopes to pvit on a public installation in the near f'ture. - For information in regard as to rates, etc., call on Mr. B. Kaplan and A.
