Generous Bequests For Lillian Freiman Hadassah
Council Camp Received To Hold Luncheon Feb. 2
For the first time in the history of Vancouver Jewry bequests have been made to one of our organizations. The Council of Jewish Women have the distinction of being the recipients of this most wonderful gift from Mrs. M. Plant, one of Vancouver's leading pioneer women. Mrs. Plant, upon learning that tlie Council wished to establish a permanent camp with the $1000 which they had left in their treasury after their successful conference last June, came forward with this presentation, namely, 15 acres of land at Gibson's Landing. The enthusiasm stimulated by this gift is unbounded. A committee has been appointed and work of organizing the camp along the most modern plans has been started.
And now another wonderful offer has been made to the camp. Mr. Harry Boyaner, wlio was chairman of the boys' camp for many years, and whose interest in camp work centers around boys, is so keenly interested in tills new project and is so anxious to see that the boys are not deprived of an equal opportunity to enjoy the privileges and great benefits of a camp holiday, that he has generously offered a contribution of $100 every year for three years if the Council will make it possible for the boys to use their camp for part of the summer season. It is earnestly hoped that other public spirited citizens will do what they can to make it possible for this generous offer to be accepted. The boys are just as much in need of this camp experience as the girls are and every effort should be made to see that they get it.
It is the hope of the Council that this camp will be in use during the entire summer season and that it might provide campinng facilities for all the children of Jewish citizens who desire to use camp life as a. medium of cementing friendships that will be binding throughout their lives. -oQo-

Meribolas Bowling
League News
The Meribolas Bowling League, which holds away at La Salle alleys every Monday at 12.30 noon, is travelling at a merry clip right now. Seventy-five per cent, of the ladies have improved their averages over their last standing and judging by the manner in which they are coming along, this league should be right up to par with others of long standing before ' the season ends.
At present, there is a very close race for top position in the league. Rose Pereles' pin-crashers are out in front but are closely pressed by Eva Franks' trundlers, just two games behind. Just three games back of them are trailing Etta Koenigsberg'^s satellites, but anything is liable to happen before the end of this roll. Incidentally, there are still a few openings for ladies desirous of joining a team. If interested just call the La Salle, or Rose Pereles.
A special bowling meeting Avill take place on the 3rd floor of La Salle alley, Saturday afternoon at 1.45. All ladies are requested to attend.
