THE AMICO CLUB
(Contributed by J. Gelin)
Announcement is made to the community of the inauguration of a new social organization, namely, the Amico Club.
The club is comprised of young men and women, and its purpose is to provide a freer and fuller social activity for the members. Bi-monthly meetings are to be held at the Community Centre Building. These meetings will take the form of a short business session, followed by evening of dancing, musical programmes, prominent speakers, or other forms of entertainment.
Although the three meetings that -have been held to date have, all been of a purely business character for the purpose of organization, they have been marked by the gay spirits, bonhomie and great entliusiasm of those present. Extensive plans for a wide and varied programme of supplementary activities have been formulated. These plans call for theatre parties, hikes and dances during the remainder of the winter season, and yachting outings, beach parties, picnics, motor excursions and flannel dances for next summer.
The name of the club, "Amico" (pronounced Ameeco) is a word coined by llie club. It has a Latin derivation meaning friendship, and truly exemplifies the spirit in which the young men and women who comprise the membership are working together for their mutual benefit and enjoyment.
Following is a list of the executive and committees: Officers, Geo. M, Lonn, president; Miss B. Lubin, vice-president; Jack Gelin, secretary; Mrs. E. Toban, financial secretary; Sid Parker, treasurer.
Entertainment Committee: Norbert Weininger, chairman; Cy Morris, Mrs. M. Kagnoff, Miss Dora Pelman.
Refreshment Committee: Miss Ruth Morris, chairman; Mrs, S. Weininger, Miss S. Rosenbaum, Phil Gelin.
Membership Committee: Harry Freeman, chairman; Sam Brail, Miss E. Goldberg,
Tlie next "meeting of the Amico Club will be held on Monday evening, Mareli 7, .and the entertainment and refreshment committees are making arrangements to provide a snappy orchestra and adequate refreshments for this evening.

Mr. L Becker acted as toastmaster for the evening, and called upon many of the guests to speak.
