Tliose fortunate enough to have the leisure, will be given, in addition to fundamentals, a pleasurable reading course for cultural development.
Men and women interested in attending these classes are urged to register at the Central School on Tuesday, October 4, at 7.30 p.m., so that the benefit of the full, course may bo had.

Fills Needed Place
In the Community
The A^ancouver Hebrew Aid Society has existed in Vancouver since 191&. It was organized for the purpose of rendering assistance to needy Jewish members, and has had a splendid record of service.
Today tlie Vancouver Hebrew Aid Society is affiliated with the Jewish Administrative Council, coming under their Family Welfare Committee, and is therefore automatically a member of the Vancouver Federated Social Agencies.
For the past three months much of the work has been in the hands of a trained social worker. Miss Peters, who has handled all social, health and ■economic problems that arise in the dependent families and individuals, and who has assisted families who are economically independent, although dependent for the adjustment of some social or health problem.
At the present time work is carried out along preventative lines; wasteful and costly duplication is eradicated and assistance is given to families and individuals for happy and secure adjustment.
The Hebrew Aid Society receives its funds from the Jewisli Community Cliest, which is supported by the Van-cuver Welfare Federation.
It, therefore, behooves the members of the Jewish Community to give their wliole-hearted support to the coming Welfare-Federation Drive. ^--oQo-^-■-^

Public Reception Held In Honor of Rabbi Bokser Sunday Evening
The Vancouver Jewish Community Centre was the sc-ene of a public meeting and reception last Sunday evening, honoring Rabbi Ben Zien Bokser, the spiritual leader for Beth Israel Congregation.
Mr. Nat. Bell, Temporary Chairman of Beth Israel Congregation presided at the meeting and called upon Mr. E. R. Sugarnian to introduce the Rabbi to the citizens gathered.
Rabbi Bokser, in his first official address to Vancouver Jewry, left a favorable impression, and members of the community look forward with pleasure to hearing more from this brilliant spiritual leader.
Following the meeting, a charmingly arranged reception was held in the Banquet Hall of the Centre, when a number of ladies in the community served dainty refreshments to the many guests assembled.
Rabbi Bokser will officiate at the Rosh Hashona Services and Yom Kip-pur Services at the Community Centre.
