"Riverside Drive" To Be Presented By Jewish Dramatic Society
The Independent Jewish Dramatic Society take pleasure in announcing that, their first presentation for this season will be the well kno^vn play, "Riverside Drive," in three acts by Leon Kobrin.
Everyone interested in Judaism readily admits that life in the new world has brought about a different trend of thought that is steadily changing the ancient traditions of our race.
However, even those who are aware of this trend probably do not fully realize how much a change has already taken place, merely during the last two generations.
This contrast betweei> new and old country thoughts and ideals is amusingly and entertainingly shown in the play "Riverside Drive" to be shown to the Jewish public of Vancouver by the Jewish Dramatic Society at Clinton Hall on Saturday, October 29, 1932.
The play, produced in New York some time ago, shows the present day picture of Jewish life in the home of "Mr. Jaffe" a wealthy clothes manufacturer of New York. Into this house of Roform Judaism is brought "Mr. Jaffe's" mother and father, direct from the "old country." ■
Froni then on the constant clash between 'modern toleranfce''and-age-old beliefs provides a dramaVthat 'will hit (Cpntinued on Page 4)
