what life can mean and be. ;
Her work called her to the courts, jails, to all institutions for dependants as well as delinquents, and she aided in changing city ordinances and state laws for their improvement. .
Never has Mrs. Solomon been without a cause or many causes Gifted with vision, profound in her ability to reason, blessed with strength and with courage, she has seen through to successful accomplishments many projects which have brought blessings and benefits, .^t the age of 75 years she still holds membership on numerous committees—her advice is sought, her judgment relied upon by her fellow workers. She remains vigorous and alert, for her life continues to be full of interests. She looks forward to days of travel, believing in education through voyaging.
In 1911, many of the articles, speeches and papers written by Mrs. Solomon were collected, and printed in book form, which mirrored her interests, her profound intellectuality, her deep religious convictions, her beliefs that women must share with men the responsibility of creating a better social order. Her philosophy of life has stood the test of time—we find her today a vital, brilliant, joyous woman, seventy-five years young.

Address By J. S. Taylor
Mr. J. S. Taylor, Secretary of the League of Social Reconstruction, addressed the Council of Jewish Women on "The Mission of this League." In an inspiring manner he outlined the aims and purposes and need of their organization. The careless attitude of the average per-flon to the pressing social problems demands intelligent education, study and thought. No drastic measures are advocated by this League, although their general trend leads to
Socialism in its perfect sense. * « * .

Rabbi Bokser Heard By Women's International League for Peace and Freedom
Lord Melchett
Honorary President Of Maccabee
LONDON—Lord Melchett has accepted the office of Honorary President of the Maccabee Jewish Sport World Federation, following a meeting with Dr. Hermann Leiewe, president of the organization, and Myer Dizengoff, Mayor of Tel Aviv.
"The Liberal Movement of Today" was the theme spoken on by Rabbi Ben Zion Bokser, when he addressed the Luncheon of the Women's League for Peace and Feedom, last week.
The Rabbi spoke on Liberalism as that broader view of life and worldly affairs usually adopted by cultured people when working for reforms. He compared it with the current Nationalism, Socialism, and Communism, showing how the last in particular was made to appeal to the emotions of the masses rather than to their intellects.
However, he felt that present-day Liberalism did savor a little too much of the scholarly and intellectual atmosphere and would be of more value if a little more action were introduced into its program.
Last Sunday evening, at the Jewish Community Centre, the Lillian Preiman Chapter of Hadassah entertained members and friends, at a Bazaar and Sale of Home Cooking.
The President and Executive take this opportunity of extending thanks to the hostesses, and to all the members and friends who contributed to the success of the event.
Thanks are also extended to members of the community who donated home cooking aad g?*occries and other things, for the Dajx&ar.
