Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Koffman celebrated their fifteenth wedding anniversary last Sunday at a dinner for immediate relatives, after which an enjoyable and entertaining evening was spent.

Mr. and Mrs. K. Charkow, well-known in the Jewish community of Vancouver, announce that they are retiring from business, after having operated a grocery store at 784 E. Georgia St, for the past fifteen years.
They wish to thank their many customers and friends who have patronized them during their years of business.
Jewish Synagogue Packed For Pesach
JERUSALEM. — The Passover holiday was marked in Palestine with a heightened religious fervor that was evident in records of attendance at the synagogues, which were all crowded to capacity. Thousands of pilgrims journeyed to the Wailing Wall to voice prayers of intercession for persecuted Jewry abroad.
James de Rothschild, Shalom Asch and Zalman Schneuer were among the noted guests seen at the Passover service at the new Peshurun synagogue in Rehavia which was built with American money.

Plans are now practically completed for Annual Bazaar to be held by Hadassah on Sunday evening, May 3rd, at 8 p.m. The Community is asked to keep this date in mind as a great deal of effort is being spent to have this Bazaar even more successful than last year. Please come and bring your friends as there will be fun for everyone.
A very fine home cooking booth is also being planned and contributions by any of the members towards same would be . very much appreciated. Have you bought your ticket yet for the Banquet cloth which will be raffled on the night of the Bazaar?

Ottawa Signally Honoured
Mrs. B. M.. Alexander of Ottawa to Represent Women's International Zionist Organization at Conference of Associated Country Women of the World, in Washington
Mrs. B. M. Alexandor, of Ottawa has been signally honored by being appointed the official representative of the Women's International Zionist Organization at the forthcoming Conference of the Associated Country Women of the World which is taking place in Washington, D.C. at the end of May.
The Women's International Zionist Organization united over 60,000 Jewish women in 44 countries throughout the world in a strong movement for the purpose of practical work in Palestine and the spreading of the Zionist ideal throughout the various countries of the world.
Mrs. Alexandor, who is one of the youngest leaders in the Canadian Organization, is president of the Ottawa Council of Hadassah, with four senior and five junior chapters, chairman of the National Committee of Junior Hadassah in Canada and actively associated with the National Committee on Education, Propaganda and Organization of Canadian Hadassah. Mrs. Alexandor is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Freinian, of Ottawa.
Convene in New York
Plans are being completed at the office of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations , of America for the forthcoming all-day National Conference which is to convene in New York City on Sunday, April 26. ;;The replies already received to the first invitations issued indicate a very large attendance of Executive Committee members and representatives of many communities throughout the country which have been in active affiliation with the Union in recent years.
The Rabbinical Council of America, in addition to participating in the conference, will convene a special session of its membership on Monday, April 27, The Women's Branch of the Union of Orthodox Congregations of America is also issuing a call to constituent sisterhoods to send representatives to the National Conference.

Approximately 75 members were present at the regular meeting of Samuel Lodge I.O.B.B. in the Centre on Tuesday, evening last with the president Sam Hyman in the chair.
Zone Deputy, Bro. J. B. Jaf-fee presented on behalf of the lodge a Bar Mitzvah gift to Harry Goldberg son of Bro. Max. Goldberg.
It was announced that the lodge intends sponsoring a moving picture entitled "The Wandering Jew," further details of which will be announced at a later date.
A large amount of routine business took place among which was the financial statement for 1935 and the proposed budget for'1^36." ' A lengthy discussion also took place on the subject of boycotting local firms selling German made goods.
H. Desky P.P. of Oakland lodge was introduced and gave a very interesting impromptu address.
The following past presidents were elected as delegates to the 73rd annual Convention of District No. 4 to be held in Butte, Montana, June 28, 29 and 30:—N. Fox, J. B. Jaffee, E. M. Goldsmith, Dr. J. Gorosh, Norman C. Levin, Philip Lesser and Sam Hyman, together with the following alternates, Harold Freeman, J. G. Shubb, Charles Goldberg, E. Silverman, Ben Shapiro, H. Brown and A. M. Charkow.
SUB JUNIOR COUNCIL
A luncheon meeting was held at Scott's Cafe last Sunday when Miss Vera Peters was the guest speaker. A Past President's pin was presented to Miss Celia Wolman by Miss Ella Jarvis.
Election of officers for the new term took place with the following members being elected:—President, Esther Miller; Vice-Pres., Shirley Charkow; Corr. Sec'y, Esther Cooperman ; Rec. Sec'y. Sally Sirlin; Treasurer, Frankie Alexander; Directors, Florence Mazelow, Rose Weiss and Bella Swartz.

At the last meeting of the Ivriah Club, held at the home of Morris Belkin, an interesting discusion took place in Hebrew regarding the German occupation of the Rhine. It was' decided to discontiiiiie meetings till after the school and University examinations.
The next meeting will be held on Friday evening, April 24, at the home of Sam Walfe, 1841 Morton Avenue, for which an interesting program has been arranged.

COUNCIL OF JEWISH WOMEN
Vancouver Section of Council of Jewish Women held a most interesting" meeting"• on Monday, April 20, when Dr. 'Morsh, Professor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, gave a scholarly address on racial prejudice.
A most gratifying piece of • news arising from this meeting-is the fact that Vancouver Council have made application to bring three German-Jewish refugee children to Vancouver.
The closing luncheon of the Council will take place on May .20, at the Vancouver Hotel, at 1 p.m. The speaker will be Mrs. Arthur Goldsmith of Portland, Ore., a member of the National Board of Council of Jewish Women. Mrs. Goldsmith compiled the study outline for Council's course in contemporar}'^ Jewish afifairs. She had an important place on the program of Western Interstate Convention held at San Francisco. Mrs. Goldsmith has been invited to occupy the pulpit of Congregation Beth Israel at Sisterhood Sabbath on Friday, May 22.
Junior and Sub-Junior Council are holding a Mother and Daughter Banquet on Sunday, May 10, at Purdy's. Ail seniors are invited to attend.
Maternity Sewing Group will meet at the home of Mrs. H. B. Kahn, 6170 Cypress St., on Tuesday, April 28.
