Mr. Toft's years of experience with one of the. largest fur houses in Winnipeg and lately with the Hudson's Bay Co. in Vancouver assures Jewish patrons of expert workmanship and complete satisfaction.
A large and varied stock of fur apparel is on display at all times in the beautiful new showrooms of the iAlaska Fur Co.
Mr. Toft is well known in the Zionist movement here, returning only last year from a two year stay In Palestine. He extends a personal invitation to all his Jewish neighbors.
The moment ttiaiT I iehtered th^ High School auditbriium, I was glad that I had accepted the Bulletin editor's invitation to attend the "First Annual Dahce Review" of the Robe-Cross Dance School. That was last Friday, June 10.'
I arrived just a very few minutes [ after 8:15 p.m;, but the program had alreaudybegiih.'riiis virtue^w in every detail, firpm the corbmence-' men;to the moment of closing at, 10:15 p.m., which must have been according to schedule for one noticed Miss Belva Plottel under whose; direction the "revie\v*V wm pre-' sented, look at her in a minute of that time, and seem-; ing anxious and' pleased that it was concluding as planned;
To present;.twenty-three full hum-; bers coinpoaed :of iactually forty-k>he separate presehiiatibns within a' period of : two hours reqiiired- that; every moment be utilized. The goipd] sized audience sensed ; this feeling,! and when bh one occasion there was;-a pause between act^ of barely a-minute, there was applause of happy impatience. ■ ■
With very little exception each actor from_ the tiniest tot showed a confidence that comes J only with a' knowledge of a part well understood and fully mastered.'
While the program gave the story of only one of the numbers, yet it was plainly evident that each per-i. former understood the story that he or she had tor.portray and .enjoyed doing it.'' ''-ll 7; ~ i ^.-.'rV'y There were few boys on the pro-gra.m—too t>ad."In several ^instances due likely to lack of numbers the male parts were taken by girls. Notwithstanding excellent portrayal, yet one felt a boy would have doke it a little, differently. One felt that more boys should be given the opportunity to take such instruction. , If one likes color then there was 'truly a treat that evening.: Every number brought forth new creations to be enthused over.
Gracefulness, animation, strength and joy—these characterised every pupil. The Chinese pupils of whom there were a number, were especially animated and appeared to enjoy themselves as much as did the audience. The parents o fthe four Jewish girls, Phyllis Tobin, • Beverly Mor-rim, Sally Teiieboum and Isabel Fish-man, must have been happy that evening to see the fine performances of thei rgirls.
r wondered if it would not be possible to devote a little more time to voice-culture, as this was the only respect in which one were likely to be just a little bit disappointed.
The conclusion of the program while not one of the numbers, was I to me the assembly on the stage of the entire cast, for the.reception of flowers and gifts of appreciation. It: was a truly colorful scene, and a happy one, made so by the pleasant curtsies of the recipients. Miss Plottel and her assistants shared in this finale.

A number of years ago, an enlightened German Christian wrote the following advice to his German Jewish friends: "One must not try to be German at all costs, if, after all, one is not a German—one must courageously step over the boundary. The primary task is to fashion the future and not • to entertain, an. unreciprocated love to the dominant nationality. It is enough to realize that much of what appears so very important today is not so important; do not imitate, nor court,, nor hide. The use of the German language is a utility and nothing else."

something new which draws praise from oiu: admirers, then somebody wants to know all about it. Bill won't be able to take his holidays till later in the year. This is his busy time, so he tells me.

Was Introduced to a charming lady in the Community Centre on Sunday night. She is Mrs. Pasthisky from Toronto, daug»iter-in-law of Rabbi and Mrs. M. N. Pastinsky. With her is her small daughter, a beautiful little miss of two years. Lily and Bella Pastinsky are Just crazy about that little niece of theirs. They talk about her all the time.'
oOo
I saw Nancy Brail at the Centre the other night. She had a very happy expression on her face. I happened to make a remark about this to Lilian Wolman.
"WeU, she should be," Lilian retorted. "She is the proud Aimt to a brand new nephew. Didn't you know that a son was bom to Mr. and Mrs. Sam Brail on Saturday?" ^
It doesn't seem so long ago, yet it is quite a number of years when Sam was a care-free young fellow with a very pleasant personality, chasing around with the gang, and now here he is the proud daddy of two children. My how time does fly.
Junior Hadassah
Attention is again drawn to the meeting of the Junior Hadassah which will be held on Wednesday evening, June 22nd, at the Community Centre, at 8.00 o'clock. Remember the date and the time!
