B'nai B'rith AuxOiaiy
Members of E'liai' B'rith Auxiliary were 'highly, gratified by receiving the following letter from; a lady-,who was- a patient in the Vancouver General Hospital, occup3ring the \|iroom furnished hy the: Auxil-iaty.' Appreciation such as thisgives great encouragement to the organization in their communal work, where they spare no effort forv the comfor; and well-being of the non-Jew and Jew alike;; ? The "Auxiliary receives no allotment from any welfare funds, but depends solely on its own efforts to raise- money for its numerous philanthropic activities.
R.R. 1, Cloverdale, B.Ci, August 12, -1939. Vancouver Aux. No. 77 B'nai BYith, Community Centre, Vancouver, B.C. Dear Ladies:
During the latter part of July and early - August: I was unfortunate enough to - have ' to spend 'several weeks of niy holiday in the Vancouver General Hospital. But, may I say I was very fortunate in being in the room which you have so tastefully furnished.
^ Indeed, it was a pleasure to have artistic coloring in a hospital ward. The beds, chairs, lounging chairs and bedside units were a treat to see harmonize. Hay the hospitals soon realize that: pleasing coloring rather than just white, makes a, stay in a hospital more cheerful.
Again r thank you. - A visitor from Edmonton, Alta. Yours sincerely,
MARY LAMBERT.
The next general meeting of the Auxiliary will take place on Tuesday evening, October 3 at 8.00 p.m., in the Community Centre.
The affair held at the home of Mrs. J. Morris on Saturday, Sept. 23 was very successful and the Auxiliary wishes to extend their sincer-est thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Morris for their kindness in giving their home.
CARD OF THANKS ,
LIrs. L Cibular wishes to eonvfey her appreciation to her many friends and acquaintances for the expressions of sympathy and the.many kindnesses shown her during her recent bereavement.

HIRER'S AIM, WORLD DOMINATION
NEW YORK (WNS) — An ethical revulsion which will only proceed from the spirit of Christianity is th^ only oppt»ition to Hitler "that will become dangerous" to tiie dictatorship, asserts the startling confession of Hermann Rauschnigg, former official of the Nazi parly, in a book called "The Revolution of Nihilism,'! published this week by the Alliance Book Corporation. This kind of morality exists in America, Rauschnigg who was once the President of the Danzig Senate declares, but "America is unstable and can be developed into an outright revolution; to do this is both a tactical siii of Nazlonal Socialism, in order to hold America aloof from Europe, and a political one, in order to bring both North and South America into the new order.", According to Rauschnigg, the book is. "the revelation of the process underlying the ostensibly national move-! ment, a destructive process of revolution of a hew and extreme type," made necessary because "even the German living in the Third R«ich has had but the vaguest notion of what has been happening to him."
Rauschnigg warns Western Civilization that no single territory such as Danzig or even Poland is the Nazi goal. Hitler means to accomplish German domination of the world bjr methods fair or foul, to create a new order in which brute strength may be the ruling factor, to destroy Christianity by causing dissension between German Catholicism and Rome, but the schism in the CathoUc Church is unimportant in the scheme of things, asserts Rauschnigg, "it will be a brief episode on the way to the compre-| hensive aim of destroying the Christian faith as the most deep-seated root of Western civilization and of the social order."
Well, with the.final reports turned hi and everything cleaned up, we can write finis to the biggest and best convention of Vancouver A, Z. A. In spite of our lack of experience and the events which happened during the convention, no one can deny the convention was a success.
Everything on the program ran true to schedule, except for the Sunday Night Frolic, which was called off for obvious reasons. Biggest event of the Conclave was the final banquet held in the Georgia Hotel. High-spot of the dinner was the inspiring singing of Kenneth Spencer, who received applause after applause for his beautiful rendition of Eli, Eli.
Sunday afternoon, the sports events were held which were run off smoothly due to the.efforts of Al Miller. In Softball, imder the pitching of Pat Kolinsky, the Vancouver chapter beat the Seattle team. In tennis also, our' team of Ted Cohen and Sam Jacob-sen won both the singles and doubles. But in the track event, Seattle chapter took all events and this won for them the cup which was presented to them at the final banquet.
On Monday night with the delegates remaining in the city, a gathering was held at the home of Mr. Manny Goldsmith. While this was distinctly impromptu it was highly successful. To the delegates who left that night it was a grand farewell party. .
So successful has this past convention been that Vancouver chapter looks forward to the next time when they will stage another convehtlon, bigg6r and better than the last.

Letters to the Editor
B'NAI B'RITH
1003 K STitEET, N.W. ' WASHINGTON, D.C.
Sept. 8th, 1939.
To The Editor, Jewish Western Bulletin: At this season of the year, it is cuJs-tomary for Jews to exchange New Year's greetings. As an habitual observer of the conventions, I want to take this opportunity of extending to you and to the entire staff of yom* paper, my very best wishes for a bigger, better and happier 5 70 0.
During the past year, you and your staff have been generous in co-operating with B'nai B'rith, nationally and locally. It is my hope that in the coming year this mutually friend-! ly relationship will not only continue but will be broadened.
Very sincerely yours,
BERNARD POSTAL, Publicity Director.
To start the new term, off with headway underfoot, our first general meeting on Monday, September 18, proved to be most interesthig and; successful, when a complete turnout of our old members plus 25 new and prospective members honored us with their presence.
With Sister Anne Paghin capably leading the meeting. Sister l4l Pas-tinsky read an article for the benefit of the new members on the history, aims and ideals of B'nai B'rith. Our past President, Sister Sally Sirlin, delivered the convention report with complete details of the recent West-em Coast Convention held in San Francisco which she attended this summer.
A topic of great importance at the present time was brought up concerning the social service work, and in what fields we can help. It was decided to organize a committee under^ SlisteriHrelen' Cohen, to look into this further. At the cohclusibn of the meeting refreshments were served.
The forthcoming Monte Carlo party honoring our new members will take place the last week of September. All girls will be notified with the particulars.
With such a niunerous amount of hidden talent in our midst, a contest has been arranged to bring Uiis forth in the form of a Junior B'nai B'rith Song. Three tunes have been selected and the girls have until this week's social to compose the lyrics. A Membership Pin will be presented to the lucky girl. So may the best songstress winr
We'll be seeing you at the social where all Junior BJB.'s will be congregated for a novel evening,of fim. Remember that the Junior B'nai B'rith Auxiliai^ is the club fqr the Jewish Daughters of today—all girls are cordially welcome.
