; The Anmi.al Junior Council Sabbath was held at the Beth Israel Synagogrue Friday, evening, December 15, with the kind-co-operation of Rabbi Cass. The participants were Miss Sally Bobroff and Miss Zara Goldberg, who led the'responsive reading, while Miss Lottie Levinson read the Council prayer. Plans are under way for a Council party to be held at the Centre early in January for members and invited guests. The invitations will be in the mail soon. A surprise program is being arranged for entertainment and it promises to be a very grand evening.
The December meeting was held in the form of a luncheon at Lack's Cafe, Sunday, December 17, and the turnout was most gratifying. Miss Julia Stockett of the Vancouver Public Library (Reference Department), guest speaker, gave a splendid review of Carl Crow's much talked of book "The Chinese Are Like That." There were many humorous anecdotes of the life of the Chinese and also some very enlightening sidelights on how they live which made a very interesting and entertaining afternoon. Plans are striding ahead for the Valentine Dance to be held at the White Rose Ballroom, February 14, 1940. Keep the date open for an evening of fun. The satisfactory results of the informal Bam Dance held last October was an inducement for the Council to report the idea for Valentine's Day. Watch for further announcements in January's Bulletin.

1. The Convention sent its greetings to the Yishuv in Palestine, to the Histodrut and to its sister organization, the Moatzath Hapoaloth. Nazi authorities, meanwhile, are helpless to check the spread of the scourge which how stalks throughout all of the larger cities in Pol§.nd. In Warsaw, intensified search continues for dead bodies lying under debris in the ghetto section of the former Polish capital. It was said that Nazi authorities could check the spread of the epidemics in the Jewish-populated streets if they delivered medical and sanitary relief.
