An interesting wedding was solemnized on Sunday, December 24th, In Los Angeles, at the home of the bride's parents, when Ethel, daughter of Mt:'^ and Mr. Harry Aron of that city was given in marriage to Mr. Norman Pelman, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Pelman of Vancouver.
Following a brief honeymoon in Palm Springs, California, the bridal couple wiU reside in Los Angeles.
Among the out-of-town guests at the wedding and reception were the mother and father of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. £[. Pelman of Vancouver, apd a brother, Mr. I. Pelman, also of Vancouver.

At a very pretty wedding which took place in the Community Centre, on Simday, December 24th, Esther, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward L Goldberg, Asbury Park, N.J., became the bride of Edward M. Kravitz, son of the late Mr. and Airs. S. Kravitz. Rev. J. Spiro officiating.
Given in marriage by her grandfather, Mr. Jacob Goldberg, the yoimg bride was charming in her simply styled afternoon frock of wine, fashioned on princess lines and featuring bell sleeves of bracelet length, which was complimented with wine accessories and a lovely corsage of gardenias and violets.
Miss Rose Kravitz, sister of the gropm,;and the bride's only attendant, was simply dressed in Queen's )lue, with matching accessories, com-pliinented with a corsage of piale pink rosebuds and swansonia.
The groom was supported by Mr. Hy Nemetz.
Following the ceremony, dinner was served to over eighty guests. An interesting feature of the ceremonial dinner, at which Mr. Myer Freedmah was toastmaster, was the opening of a bottle of 1904 champagne left to each child of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. Kravitz to be opened at their respective marriages.
. Mr. and M^s. Edward Kravita have taken up residence at 707 West 16th.

Following national Hadassah program, providing new clothing for evacua,ted Refugee children, Lillian Freiman Chapter of Hadassah will sponsor a clothing shower during the months, of January and February tinder the chairmanship of Mrs. Paul Lourie. "
Any useful new garment suitable for boys or girls between the ages of one to fifteen years of age will be grreatly appreciated and these may be left at the Centre or on Red Cross Day (every Tuesday afternoon) in the care of Mrs. Lourie.

ATTENTION
OF ORGANIZPNS
Mr. a Horwitz, of the editorial staff of the Daily Hebrew Journal," is now engaged upon writing a book under the name of "Jewish Communal Life in Canada." He will be greatly indebted to secretaries of Jewish Organizations all over the country, who will mail to him information about their organizations!
The information required is a short history of the organization, the present membership, aim of the orgsm-ization, a list of officers for 1940, and the address of the president.
Letters should be sent to Mr. C. Horwitz, care Daily Hebrew Journal, 542 Dundas St. W., Toronto.
Council of Jewish Women
A program of special appeal to women, will be held at the next Council meeting, at the Community Centre, January 10th> at 2:30 p.m., with the co-operation of David Spencer Ltd. and the B.C. Electric Railway Company.
i Miss Mutch, of the B.C. Electric, will speak on "Comfortable Arrangements for the table," and a china expert from David Spencer's will tell us "What to Look for in Lovely Ohina." A demonstration table will be laid for eight.
; All Red Cross work will be resumed Tuesday, January 9th. Home i^ursing Group No. 1 will meet at 11 a.m. as usual, and Red Cross Sewing from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Home Nursing Group No. 2 will start this Tuesday, January 9th, at 1:30 p.m., with registration limited to 15. There are still one or two places open.
I Reserve January 20th for another Saturday evening Council Party. Details will be given later.

The drawing for a beautiful Chenille Bedspread took place at the very successful social which was held at the home of Mrs. Harrison, Saturday evening, December 20. The winner was Ticket No. 1051, Mrs. R. Horowitz, 1135 West 14th Avenue. Many thanks are extended from the executive to Mr. and Mrs. Harrison for their kindness in letting us use their home.

JUNIOR JUDAEAN BOYS
Entertainment for the forthcoming Judaean Night is being whipped into shape rapidly. The Junior Boys are energetically preparing their parts in the play, oratorical contest, and recitations.
The sale of tickets for the raffle is proceeding in fine fashion. A personal radio will be presented to the lucky ticket-holder.
The Jiuiior Boys meet again at 2.30 Sunday, January 7 at the Community Centre.
The next club social and advisability of having a club newspaper will be among the important subjects discussed.
A short talk will be given by Mr. Freeman.
All prospective and regular members are requested to attend this short but hniwrtant meeting.
JUNIOR HADASSAH
The next general meeting of the Junior Hadassah will be held at the Centre on the 24th of January at 8 p.m. An instructor will be present at that time to teach the girls the art of Palestinian dancing. Current events and an interesting speaker are on the programme. A social evening will climax the affair.
A cordial invitation is extended to all young girls interested in Hadassah work to attend our annual membership tea to be held at the home of Miss Ann Mann, 1152 West 13th, on Sunday, the 28th of January.. There will be no charge for paid up members; Try to attend this enjoyable afternoon.

Red Cross activities will be resumed on Tuesday, January 9, at which a large number of members are expected to attend.

TALMUD TORAH HEAD ADDRESSES ASSEMBLY IN SEATTLE
At the invitation of the Kadima Club of Seattle, Washington, Mr. Zvi Schreiner, Principal of the Vancouver Talmud Torah, addressed the members of that organization last Thursday evening in Seattle.
The subject chosen by Mr. Schrei-iier for his lecture in Seattle was one of unusual interest. He also addressed the Congregation Bikur Cholm on Saturday morning.

JUNIOR COUNCIL
For the New Year an interesting and full program has been planned by Junior Council, which will include an evening of fun for Council members and invited guests on Wednesday, January 17; a party and treats for the little inmates of the Crippled Children's Hospital early in February; the 16th Annual Valentine dance on Valentine's Day, February 14th; a Spring Fashion Show to be held in conjunction with the Senior Council; closing with the Annual Mother and Daughter Banquet in May.
' AU members are asked to invite a friend as their guest for the Council party being held on the 17th. On her name being telephoned in to Ella Jarvis, convenor, or Sally Bob-roff, membership chairman, an invitation will be issued. Chalk this date up on your calendar, members, 4nd remember that an evening of "FUN" for you and your guest has been planned. Surprise program!

Study and Social Service Groups These combined groups will reconvene for the first Fireside Chat of the New Year on Tuesday evening, January 9th, at 8:15 p.m., at the home of Lillian and Ruth Wolman, 368 W. 13th.
■ This group thank Mr. Schreimer for his kindness in taking charge of the last meeting and leading the members in such an interesting discussion as "Are we a Nation, a Race, or a Religion," during the absence of Mrs. Schreimer from the city. . The Annual Membership Tea of the Sisterhood of Congri^ation Beth Israel is being held on Wednesday afternoon, January 17th, commencing at 2.00 p.m.
Preparations are being made by The Sisterhood to have this affair its u.<;ual success. Each member is asked to make every endeavor to bring a new member.
