« * * At a very well represented Youth Aliyah Limcheon, held at the Centre, Friday, Feb. 16th, at 1 p.m., on which occasion both Rabbi Cass and Pas-tinsky were also present, Mrs. Avis C. Shulman, the charming and brilliant guest speaker from Chicago, addressed the gathering. In a very intere^st-ing manner the speaker enlarged on and emphasized the importance of this work; Prom the wealth of her experiences haying worked in the [modern collectives, she;jfM©;W; very interesting and romantic picture of life in Palestine.
She stressed the fact that altliough the efforts on behalf of Youth Aliyah were very remarkable we were still only giving what we wouldn't miss and that we were reaching the point where it will mean the sacrifice of almost doing without. In any event, all we could hope for is to save just a renmant of those who were seeking help.
The Chairman, Mrs. L. Shapiro, thanked all present for their fine contributions and efforts and particular mention was made of the efforts of Junior Hadassah and Junior Ju-daean Girls.
Mrs. T. Goldbloom convened the Limcheon together with Mrs. Freda Weiss and their committee.
Mrs. E. R. Sugarman was responsible for the fine vocal numbers by Miss Barry Prowd accompanied by Miss Phyllis DiUworth and the table decorations by Mrs. Max Grossman attracted more than usual attention. A miniature open doorway with "The Doors of Palestine are Wide Open" and little miniatm-e figures of boys and girls marching up the roadway bearing a Jewish flag symbolic of Youth Aliyah entering the new Homeland only added to the much anticipated Annual Youth Aliyah Luncheon.
PALESTINE
The Zionist Coimcil are planning a Purim Festival on Thursday evening, March 21. An unusual pri^am full of fun, gaiety and education is being planned. The refreshment committee is arranging to serve "homentashen" and other Purim delicacies.
The entire community is invited— Dad, Mother—and the youngster.
COUNCIL NEWS
A Delegate Tea will be held at the home of Mrs. Harry Boyansr, 1455 Devonshire Crescent, on Friday, March 8th, at 3 pjn. Council members are earnestly asked to make an effort to be present, so that we can swell the Del^ate Fund. Vancouver Section is proud to announce that the President, Mrs. Norman Brown, has been elected to go as a delegate to the Interstate Conference, at Los Angeles, March 17th to 20th.
The next regular Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 13th at 2 p.m. at the Community Centre. Our guest speaker will be Mcs. J. S. Ginsberg of Calgary, Alta., Western Regional Supervisor for Canadian National Coimcil, who is on her way to the Interstate Conference at Los Armeies. Mrs. Ginsberg has had long Council experience, and at one time was President of the Wihnip^ Section. Mrs. Ginsberg will be the house guest of Mrs. Sam Was-serman.
Another delightful feature of oiu: March meeting will be the Camp mothers, who will be our guests in a body at this meeting. They are very busy with their money raising events, and will be holding another social on Saturday evening, March 2nd, at the home of Mrs. McDevitt. Good luck. Camp Mothers.

Late Friday evening services, tonight, commence at 8:00 p.m. sharp. Cantor Jacob Siyowich assisted by the Beth Israel Choir, will chant the services. Rabbi Cass will take as the theme for his sermon, "First Things First."
Oneg Shabbos To Hear "The Nazar-ene" Reviewed The Sisterhood Oneg Shabbos will be held this Saturday afternoon, on March 2nd at 2:30 p.m. in the home of Mrs. P. Hollenberg, 2396 W. 15th Ave. This promises to be an afternoon of enjoyable interest to all attending. Rabbi Cass will review the latest and newest book by Sholom Asch, entitled "The Nazarene", which book has since its publication aroused considerable controversy.
Rev. E. D. Braden to Address Men's Club
On Monday evening, March 4th, in the Community Centre, the regular monthly dinner meeting of the Men's Club, will take place at 6:15 p.m.
-Rev. Dr. E. D. Braden, Minister of Ryerson United Church, will be the guest speaker, and has chosen as his topic, "Innocence Abroad". Dr. Braden is widely known as an extremely interesting and entertaining weaker. His address will be based on his recent trip to the British Isles.
All members of the Men's Club are lu-ged to be present, and to bring their friends and any visitors. A very enjoyable dinner has been arranged and will be catered for by the Sisterhood.

Highlighting the A.Z.A. events in the past few weeks were the two clothes drives under the direction of Jack Roise in which over 400 pounds of old clothes were collected—nice going, Jack; also the joint house party at Jack Rose's to which over 3K couples came and enjoyed themselves. On Monday, February 26, A.Z.A. held a joint stag with the De-Molay boys; the program of which consisted of a dialect reading by Jack F^hhi, a skit by Bill Upton, a quiz between A.Z.A. and DeMolay and last but not least a hilariously funny speech by Ruby Silverman on "The Preparation of Goulash in One Easy Lesson."
This Sunday, March 3, is our next general meeting; so turn out, Alephs, and lend yom- support to your fraternity. Our business will be cut sliort and the Public Speaking Club of A,Z.A. wiU take over the cultural program.
