Vancouver's Young Judaeans are working harder than ever to make Judaean Night a big success. The debaters are practising for the tussle with Calgary. The program artists too, are rehearsing.
The play is sure to hold the spotlight on the "big night." "Roots," a one-act playlet, is the story of a young girl v/ho returns home after studying in Germany to find her family changed. When her friend from Germany, an exiled son of a Nazi enters the picture, complications set in. But wait, you'll see the rest on Judaean Night, December 31.
The play has a superb cast headed by Rose Weiner and Norm Chorcow. In supporting roles, there are Rita Herman, Elsie Abramson, Norman Kelbert, Leslie Allen Raphael, Gloria Steinburg, and Sarah Zivot. All are under the capable direction of Irving Kirschner.
A dozen Judaeans enjoyed an invigorating hike up the mountain Sunday, The joint junior and senior paper, the "Judaean" will be published on Sunday.
