Mr. and Mrs. B. Edleson of Ottawa, Ont., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lillian, to Dr. Harry Katznelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. K, Katznelson of Vancouver. Dr. Kat2aielson, a well-known member of this commiuiity, is how in the Division of Bacteriology of the Dominion Department of Agriculture at Ottawa. He is associate editor of the Experimental Farm News, and also a member of the La Salle Symphony Orchestra of Ottawa.
The bride-to-be is a member of the Public Se^ool Staff in Ottawa, specializing in kindergarten classes; a talented artist, secretary of the Jewish Young People's League, and Captain of the Jewish Girl Guide Troop of Ottawa,
The wedding will be an event of late summer, and Dr. Katznelson will bring his bride West on their honeymoon.
JUNIOR COUNCIL CARRIES ON LOCAL ACTIVITIES
With the coming of Spring the Vancouver Section Council of Jewish Juniors are planning ahead for the closing of their 1940-41 club year, which, as in the past many years, will again take the form of a Mother and Daughter Banquet, at which the newly elected officers will be installed.
During the past few years the Mother and Daughter Luncheon has become one of the outstanding affairs of the social calendar, looked forward to eagerly by the many mothers to whom this affair is dedicated.
Although definite plans have not as yet been concluded, the Junior Council at their last meeting appointed as Convenor Miss Ella Jarvis, under whose capable convenorship an extremely well-planned and highly enjoyable affair can be looked forward to.
In looking back over the past season Junior Council members can be proud of the excellent program which they carried out. Although several adjustments in the Council program had to be made to allow for the regular attendance at the Monday, evening Red Cross groups, the gfirls cheerfully gave up their usual biweekly Fireside Discussion and Sewing Groups so that they could do their bit.
This year Council has continued its support of the Crippled Children's Hospital, the War Chest Campaign, Council Camp, etc. .and have undertaken a new obligation by donating towards a new Sewing Machine required by the Jewish Federated Red Cross Unit.
One of the most important meetings of the year will be the April meeting at which election of officers will take place. A full turn-out of members is anticipated so that a capable Executive will be elected to carry on the splendid Council traditions as exemplified to the full by the Vancouver Section in the past years. With war efforts becoming more intense it will be necessary for the members of the Junior Council to keep step during the coming year and co-operate fully with the local Senior Group as well as the recently organized Canadian National body for a complete unification of purpose.

The Editor:
It is a pleasure for me to renew my subscription to your splendid paper. Although we are Gentiles—we are very deeply interested in everything concerning your noble people, and our hearts go out in sympathy to all those who have suffered such brutal tyrannyand gross violence as the members of your race have been made to endure under the heel of the Nazis.
We send you this message of cheer and comfort that as your history has been recorded for four thousand years IT WILL STILL CONTINUE EVERLASTINGLY—long after such foul names as Hitler, Mussolini et al, have been forgotten.
For your God has promised through the mouth of one of your ancient prophets that, "He will make an everlasting covenant with you—and will place you in your own land—Palestine—and will have you dwell therein, you and your children—and your children's children FOREVER—and none shall make you afraid.
Hitler can no more blot out the Jewish race than he can blot out the sun. Your Messiah is the only one who can bring order out of this world-wide chaos — He alone can bring the glorious sunshine of PEACE—and the whole world is WAITING FOR THE SUN-RISE.
