The J.D.C. in Europe handled immigration papers, ar-ranged passage and paid or ad> vanced travel costs for more than 1,500 Jews who have immigrated to the U. S. so far this year.. In the first six months of 1946, the J.D.C. sent more, than 190,000 pounds of tinned kosher meat into Germany and Austria alone.
