Permission For Drive Granted Federation
Sanction was given at the last meeting of the Administrative Council to Federated Jewish Women to hold a city-wide fund raising drive November 1 to 15. Why is this money needed now, and to what use will it be put?
Clothing for overseas is a crying need of the moment. Winter is settling over Europe and thousands of our people are still housed in camps. Appeals for warm clothing seem bottomless and Congress headquarters in Montreal is making heroic effoirts to answer these appeals. Vancouver clothing donations go dierctly to Montreal and from there are shipped overseas— to any point where the need is urgent That is why the effort of Federated Jewish Women is bdng concentrated on fund raising NOW.
By permission of the Administrative Council the entire comm-tmity wHl be canvassed the first two -weeks in November. By that time most of us will have prayed and meditated in our Synagogues and there will be none whose thoughts have not reached out to our Tinfortunate brothers and sisters across the seas.
Thankfulness for our own happy ^tuation in this land can best be e3q)ressed concretely.
Your assistance in the campaign for funds for clothing will be a measure of the part you wish to play in this relief program.
