Hanita Club
The Hanita Club will hold their annual "Bingo Night" Sunday, December 19th at the Community Centre: Everybody welcome—free admission, games, door prize, home cooking booth, refreshments and last but not least the drawing of our raffle which is in aid of the "Childs Rescue Fund." Three spectacular prizes will be the winners 'awards. So those who have not already bought their raffle tickets 40 so immediately in order to receive those lovely prizes.

Obituary
The death occurred in Los Angeles on December 10th, of Mr. Sam Waxman, age 59.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. M. Klein and Mrs. B. Zavat and two grandchildren, all oSc Los Angeles, and two sisters, Mrs. E Waxman and Mrs. S. Pol-sky, of Vancouver.
Junior Hadassah
The next general meeting will take place on Tirarsday, December 23, at the home of Rosalie Toban, 6362 Adera St. at 8.15 p.m. This is to be a joint meeting with, the Business and Professional Chapter of Hadassah.
It is also an important meetr. ing as the guest speaker will be Miss Hannah Stein, Hadassah field worker who will be in Vancouver to address us at this time.
A large turnout is expected.

• Our efforts are being combined to make this evening memorable one. The entertainment will be varied and a colorful traditional Chanuka program is being arranged. One of the highlights on our program is the well-known singer, Harvey Raymon, who has captivated every audience that hears him.
Our celebration this year must be twofold. For not only do we celebrate and commemorate our ancient heroes .for their refusal to tolerate any form of subservience and bondage, Hannah's sons today have picked up the torch that Hannah's sons of yore bore so bravely.

The tea held at the home of Mrs. A. Wosk last week proved most successful, and smcerest appreciation and thanks are hereby extended to her for her gracious hospitality. These funds will go towards purchase of wool for articles to be knitted and shipped to P^esUpe. I

Louise Mahrer Chapter B'nai B'riih No. 568 will hold their next regular meeting in the lounge at the Jewish Community Centre at 8:15 on Tuesday, December'^ 21.

YOUTH ALIYAH HADASSAH CHAPTER
Youth Aliyah celebrated its sixth birthday on Thursday, December 9, with a social evening at the home of Mrs. Edn^ Lipetz. A large number of our membership attended, and a most enjoyable evening v/as had by all. The winner of the food hamper drawing was Mrs. Nettie Stark, and a lovely handkerchief was won by oiur president, Mrs. Jennie Kagnoff. A large birthday cake was cut while the members sang Hatikvah. Many thanks to the social committee for a delicious lunch. May the chapter also extend thanks to our gracious hostess, Edna Lipetz, for her hottie.
The Lillian Freiman Chapter wDl hold a luncheon at the Centre on December 22 at 1 o'clock. The guest speaker will be Miss Stein. Please try to attend.
All girls who have not handed in their Doll Raffle books, please do so as soon as possible, to Goldie Bent.

A Chanuka Party will wind up the year for the English Branch and Youth Branch of the U.J.P.O. on Thursday, December 23rd, at the Peretz School at 8.30. Cantor Fred S. Gartner will give a talk on Chanuka and lead in a sing song.
