Dear Reader:
As 'we enter into another year of publi^ing the Jewish Western Bulletin I feel that you shoidd be told some of the things' have va. mind for the paper, especially as I had during the latter weeks of 1948,,to -allow it to slip back in qiiaiJty since I Was operating on Va oner year contract" and could not gamble tdomuch on thefiiture as my operating loss for 1948 was •hfavy.^- 7 -V
. Except for a few final details; agreement has been reached Ijetween The Vancouver Jewish Administrative Organization and myself for
^9 longer term contract, and I will thus be able to plan for tjie future.
I am hoping in the coming year to be able to devote more time arid space to national and international affairs and will express a viewpoint in "editorials"—and will endeavor to get promin-(Bnt members of our community to also take their "pens in hand."
It will be my continued policy to assist eveiy or-gaiiizatioh now in existence an<i 'which might come i^to existence, so long as the piir-ppsb is lawful and of good ilitentidn—-to place itself be-idre tlie. public in as accurate a ligfet as possible.
^PCH LEFFEL
i want to thank the several hundred? who have asked me about ^'Koch Leffel." As I told them . . .the column might be resumed so spon as it was possible to give assurance that his talents would not be wasted on an indefinite contract . . . which could not previously be given.
SUBSCRDPTIONS
* It has been found necessary to increase the Subscription Rate to $3.00. I feel that no
one will object since notwithstanding increased costs (of several times what was the case just four or five years ago), there has not been jin adjustment in the rate.
