Naomi Chapter Oi Hadassah
The big decision at the last Naomi general meeting was the Valentine Supper Dance to be held on Satur<j day evening, Ffebruary 12^ at the Schara Tzedeck Auditorium.
This is to take the. place bf our Annual Fashion Show, -which, due to unforeseen circumstances, cannot be held this year. We hope, however, to hold a Fashion. Show again next year.
Nevertheless, the Valentine Dance promises to be a most enjoyable event. Howard Isman and his band have been engaged and a delicious supper is beixjig planned. Bertha Shachter has undertaken the chairmanship of this affair^ with Anita Waterman as co-chairman. Various committees were chosen iand they are going ahead with all arrangements. We hope to have the co-opertaion of all our members and friends to make this event a huge success.
This meeting was held at the home of Minnie Pelman, and was very well attended. A re-' cording of the Dean of Canterbury's address at the TJniversifer of British Columbia was beam and enjoyed by all.
Tickets for the Valentine Dance will be available within a few days and may be obtained from any Naomi member.

Lillian Freiman Chapter of Hadassah
(Iw J. R» Bercbv) ' ''['['. At the executive meeting of January S, immediately preceding the general meeting, it /veas decided to hold the ajmnnal Youth Aliyah luncheon in the J[aJtter pju^ in order to be able to take advantage a speake^^ scheduled by headquarters to be in yanconver at that time. A motion made by Mrs. D. Panar and seconded by Mrs. M. Resnick to raise the minimum price of the limcheon to $12.00 was shelved imtil next meeting; in order to give the Hadassah Council an opportunity to discuss It more freely.
A splendid paper on current events was read by Mrs. B. Shapiro, "The defence of Jerusalem will go down in the l^&ges of history as an outstanding, example of courage and. sacrifice," she said in reading some of the reports. Mrs. Shapiro appealed to the members to pay all dues in full right away, so as tb enable her to bring a creditable report, as delegate to the National Hadassah Convention, taking place in Montreal January 23 to 25. A recent film of every day life in Israel was greatly appreciated and we /Sincerely thank the Zionist Organization for it. We wish to thank Mrs. Dora Levy for having made such a splendid start by paying her Youth Aliyah luncheon money so early. Mrs. Levy, one of our older grandmothers, has embrbidered a large luncheon cloth and raised $34.75 for the luncheon through the sale of raffles by herself only. The raffle was drawn at the' meeting and Mrs. Grant is the lucky winner.
> Many thanks also to Mrs. Rabinovich and her committee for the refreshments and arrangements for the tea, so ably convened.
Youth Aliyah Haddssah Chapter
Although yire did npt have our usual good turnout, due ^'poor weather conditions, the^'members who attended our Thursday night meeting certainly ehjeyed the play, «'A Floating ^ Homeland," by Marcia Harris; and directed by Judith Birfey. We felt very honored in having the authoress as our guest, and wish to ' extend to her our siiicere thanks. We really do have some worthwhile talent amongst 'biir members which we would like to see exercised more' often. Many thanks to oiir ^cibiis hbstess of the evening, Marie Moscovitch.
Carnations: Two factories are now in full swing — at the home of Nettie Stack, every Tueisday evening, and Eve Tobon every Thursday evening.
