Fall Fashions at Sorority Tea
The Delta Gamma Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority at the University of B.C. once again extends an open invitation to all Jewish women of the community to attend their annual tea and fashion show, to be held this year on Wednesday, August 24, at the home of Mrs. Harold Freeman, 1109 Devonshire Crescent.
The models, chosen from both active members and alumnae, include the Misses Shirley Bookman, Brana Lotzkar, Nettie Rosenberfg, Ethel Slobin, Ruth Snider, and Ar-
liss Toban, and the Mesdames Morton Rothstein, Greorge Silverberg, and David Zacks. Commentating on the fashions, which are from leading Vancouver stores, will be Mrs. Arnold Shine (nee Harriet Hoch-man).
Delta Phi Epsilon is intertnation-ally recognized as an important contributor in the field of child rescue work. Delta Gamma Chapter in Vancouver is attempting to carry on this fine tradition and are confident that the affair to be held this coming Wednesday will prove to be a great success.

Our program calls for the teaching of 60G Hebrew elements in' the elementary classes. Hebrew is tought as a language in the higher grades.

Mrs. Lechtzier and Mrs. Brown are chairman and co-chairman of the special gifts committee of the Women's Division of the UJA campaign. They are planning a special dinner and sherry party for the women In their section. This gift-giving fete Is scheduled to take place at the Hotel Vancouver, towards the end of August. The date will be announced shortly.

Mrs, Sam Zacks, wife of the president of the Zionist Organization of Canada, and a prominent Zionist leader in her own right, will be one of the guest speakers at the forthcoming B.C. Regional Conference of Hadassah taking place in Vancouver at the Hotel Vancouver on September" 14.
Mrs. M. Stark, arrangements committee chairman, reports that plans for the conference are pro-cjeeding well, Mrs. Z. Kalensky, cc*iference secretary, reports an enthusiastic response from out-of-town chapters.

Door Prizes at Medical Aid To Isroel Tea
Two door prizes will be awarded to lucky tea-goers at the Medical Aid to Israel Tea, August 31, at 5789 Hudson Street.
From 3 to 6 p.m., gruests will not only be able to enjoy the delightful afternoon party, but will also be able to purchase home-cooked delicacies prepared by the sponsors of the tea, the wives of professional men in the city.
Those contributing their culinary efforts are asked to label the tins containing same, in order to facilitate their return to rightful owners.

As he wrote the cheque for the first premium, a brisk wind blew a sign off the insurance company's building. It slammed into Backinger's car. He filled out a claim for damages without leaving his chair.
